THIS IS A VERY BAD BROKEN RECORD THAT MUST END SOON – RAIN WINS AGAIN SATURDAY AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
SEVERAL SPECIAL EVENTS LINE THE UPCOMING SCHEDULE – USAC NATIONAL SPRINTS JUNE 17 – SPORTSMAN TWIN 20’s ON JUNE 21
BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – Race fans and competitors alike are crying ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!
For the second consecutive week, and for the seventh Saturday into the 2025 race season, rain, and on and off showers from overnight through the morning and predicted into the mid-afternoon, have once again forced the cancellation of the scheduled races for Saturday night at Grandview Speedway.
The Speedway received heavy showers last evening, leading to very wet track conditions, coupled with more rain and showers throughout the beginning of the day Saturday, which are predicted to not leave the area till late afternoon, leaving no chance to prepare for the evening’s race program.
The seventh Saturday night rain/weather cancellation to start the season is the most ever in Grandview Speedway’s 63 year history. Previously the most events lost to the elements to begin a season were five, which occurred in the 1972, 1982, 2003, and 2018 racing seasons.
The evening’s race events were to be sponsored by A.D. Moyer Lumber Company and feature a special triple-header of T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman plus the only appearance of the United Racing Club (URC) Sprint cars.
Unfortunately the URC Sprints will not be rescheduled for this season, however Sprint car fans will still have plenty to look forward to, with the USAC National Sprints arriving on June 17, and PA 410 Sprint Car Speed Week on July 1.
Grandview Speedway will now turn their attention to next Saturday and present a NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series program featuring the T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds and the T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman.
The show on Saturday, June 14 will include qualifying events for both classes leading into a 30-lap T.P. Trailer Modified feature and a 25-lap feature for the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman.
Rain checks or pit wristbands from May 17 may be used for the June 14 program, as this will be the last program to use the May 17 rainchecks.
Pit gates will open at 4 pm, with grandstand gates opening at 5:30 pm, warm-ups starting at 6:15 pm, and the first race of the evening getting the green flag at 7:30 pm.
Adult grandstand admission is $20, students 10-15 with ID are $10, while children ages 9 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members
The second Thunder on the Hill Racing Series event will be held on Tuesday, June 17, as Levan Machine & Truck Equipment presents the Jesse Hockett Classic USAC National Sprint Car Series Eastern Storm opener.
This program includes time trials, and qualifying events for the USAC Sprints leading up to the 40-lap feature event that pays $6000 to win. The program also includes the 358 Modifieds with qualifying events and a 30-lap $3000 to win feature, that could pay an added $2000 from Alpine Building Supply if the winning driver is a first time Thunder Series winner.
The Thunder on the Hill advance ticket process is in place for the Tuesday, June 17 USAC Sprint Car and 358 Modified double header. For advance tickets, please call 443-513-4456, leave your name and the number of tickets you need for June 17. You may pay for and pick up tickets at the Will Call Window after 4:15 pm, and enter the main grandstand gate at 4:30 pm. General admission tickets go on sale at 5 pm. Adult grandstand tickets are $35, children 6 to 11 are $10 and children 5 and under will be admitted for free. Pit admission is $45 and a license is not required.
Saturday, June 21 will see another special night, as the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman will be in the spotlight competing in their first Twin 20’s feature event program along with a full show for the T.P. Trailer Modifieds starting at 7:30 pm.
