The Rogers Family, who promote and operate Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, Pa., have completed their yearly review of race car specifications and race night rules/procedures and have announced to all competitors that there will be NO CHANGES heading into the 2026 racing season.

It was another night to remember Saturday night at Grandview Speedway, with intense and exciting racing all night long, and after the final checkered flag waved, Jared Umbenhaur of Richland, Pa. was able to score the victory in the 30-lap T.P. Trailer Modified main event, while Dylan Swinehart of Fleetwood, Pa. pulled of a last lap, last corner pass to win the 25-lap T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman feature race.

Umbenhauer started fifteenth in the T.P. Trailer Modified main event, ran the outside lane to the front of the pack, engaged in a six lap side-by-side duel with Eddie Strada of Lake Ariel, Pa., eventually taking the lead on lap nineteen, then pulled away in the closing laps, scoring his first T.P. On the card this Saturday, August 23, will be the T.P. Trailer Modifieds and the T. P. Truck Equipment Sportsman in a NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series program which includes qualifying events for both divisions leading up to the 30-lap T.P. BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – The Grandview Speedway racing fraternity begins this week of racing in mourning after the passing of long-time race announcer, public relations expert, and one of a kind personality Ernie Saxton.

Saxton, who had retired from active announcing at Grandview following the 2013 race season, and serving as the track’s public relations and marketing mainstay for over 50 years from 1967 until his complete retirement in 2021, passed away on Sunday after a brief stay in the hospital last week.

Saxton worked at Grandview from the early year’s right through the wildly exciting heyday decades of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s which included the track’s involvement in the old Tri-Track Series, and into the current era of racing which includes the highly sophisticated technology of today. EASTERN STORM OPENER STOPPED BY WET GROUNDS, NEXT THUNDER EVENT IS PA SPEED WEEK, TUESDAY, JULY 1 AT GRANDVIEW

BECHTELSVILLE, PA    JUNE 17,  2025  . . . . . .  When will Mother Nature give us a break?    The Tuesday, June 17 USAC Eastern Storm and 358 Modified Doubleheader  became just another show of many to be cancelled due to weather conditions.    Extreme wet conditions at the track and a miserable weather day with 93% cloud cover, occasional light mist and no sun is preventing the track crew from starting the preparation.  There is also a concern for spectators walking in the grandstand area with the very wet grounds.    With six consecutive nights of the Eastern Storm there is no opportunity for a rain date.   This is very disappointing for Thunder on the Hill and Grandview Speedway, the originators of the USAC return to Pennsylvania back in 2007.  We hope the weather cooperates for the continuation of the Levan Machine and Truck Equipment Eastern Storm that will visit Bridgeport on Wednesday, Big Diamond on Thursday, Williams Grove Friday, Port Royal Saturday and Action Track USA on Sunday.  READ MORE..

Heavy overnight rains throughout the Berks County region left Grandview Speedway very soggy Saturday morning, but some sun and wind followed for a period of time giving management the opportunity to forge ahead with the plan to race. However mid-afternoon thundershowers dumped more rain on the already wet facility when the track crew needed to begin the final track preparation, forcing management to throw in the towel and cancel the night’s planned race program. BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – Following a strong and consistent 2024 season that took him to a track championship without a feature win, then enduring a terrible start to the 2025 season, Jeff Strunk of Boyertown, Pa. was able to break the victory drought, scoring the win in the 30-lap T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modified feature Saturday night at Grandview Speedway.

Strunk was able to wrestle the lead away from Bobby Gunther-Walsh of Allentown, Pa. following a lap five restart, then survive some mid-race pressure from Logan Watt of Boyertown, Pa. BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – An absolutely beautiful sunny day with temperatures in the low 80’s, ended with a cold front and rain showers mid-evening, putting an early end to the scheduled NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series race events on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway.

Qualifying heat race number two for the T.P. Trailer Modifieds had just taken the checkered flag when round one of the precipitation hit the Speedway, halting the program. After the rain stopped the track crews went to work trying to recover the speedway surface, only to have more rain pop up again on the radar screen and arrive shortly thereafter ending the night’s action after six qualifying races had been completed. This special event is being organized by Mark Hamm, father of Sportsman driver Nicholas Hamm, and representatives of the Collaborative Autism Movement as a means of raising awareness to Autism, and also as a fundraiser.
