VP RACING FUELS BRUCE ROGERS MEMORIAL MONEY MAKER TO START GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY’S 64th ANNIVERSARY SEASON OF RACING ON SATURDAY APRIL 4

BIG BLOCK/SMALL BLOCK MODIFIED FEATURE IS 50 LAPS FOR $7500 TO WIN/$1000 TO START

TALENTED LIST OF PREVIOUS BRUCE ROGERS MEMORIAL RACE WINNERS HAVE A TOTAL OF 133 CHAMPIONSHIPS BETWEEN THEM

BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – The 64th season of professional auto racing at Grandview Speedway, will officially begin on Saturday, April 4 with the 9th annual running of the VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Memorial Money Maker 50 for Modifieds, honoring the late owner and promoter of Grandview Speedway.

Prior to the official opener on Saturday, March 28 will be the traditional free-to-the-public practice session open to all racing divisions. Drivers will have the opportunity to test their reworked or brand-new equipment for the new season before competition officially begins next week. Race fans will have the opportunity to come out and see their favorite drivers for the first time and check out their new cars.

Pit gates will open at 10 am, and the practice session will start at 12 noon and run till 5 pm. Admission to the pit area is $35 and no license is required, grandstand admission for spectators is FREE. As always, track concessions will be open for everyone in attendance.

Also on Saturday, March 28, fans who purchased season passes will be able to come to the track and select their seats for the new season starting at 10 am. Season passes can also be purchased at the track on Practice Day.

Taking a look at the winners of the previous eight VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Memorial races, the winners have a championship caliber resume of driving accomplishments, as between them they have accumulated 133 total track and series championships!

The initial event was held in 2018, with current NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series star Stewart Friesen of Sprakers, N.Y. scoring the win. In addition to his truck series racing, Friesen is also one of the top pilots currently in Modified stock car racing, having scored a total of 17 championships at four different tracks, plus multiple series titles as well.

The second event in 2019 saw Savannah, N.Y. ace Matt Sheppard taking home the win. Sheppard’s career has seen full time racer score an unbelievable 50 championships at six different tracks, plus multiple series titles in a career that has seen him as one of the top pilots currently in Northeast Modified racing.

The 2020 edition was held in June, with current Grandview NASCAR Modified star Tim Buckwalter of Douglasville, Pa. scoring the victory. Buckwalter is a driver who has competed in many different forms of competition including Sprints, Midgets, MIcro-Sprints, SpeedSTR's as well as Modifieds, and has won 9 track and 3 series titles for a total of 12 championships throughout the multiple divisions of competition so far in his career.

Defending Grandview T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modified Champion Duane Howard of Oley, Pa. picked up the win in the 2021 edition. The 2025 track title was the seventh of Howard’s career at Grandview, to go along with 21 track championships at four different speedways during a career that started in the 1980’s and has also seen him inducted into the Northeast DIRT Modified Hall of Fame.

The fifth annual race in 2022 saw all-time Grandview Speedway win leader Craig Von Dohren of Oley, Pa. score the feature win in the track’s 60th anniversary celebration event. In addition to being the top winner in track history, Von Dohren is a 13-time Grandview Champion out of his 19 total track titles at four different facilities. Von Dohren was also inducted into the Northeast DIRT Modified Hall of Fame for his storied career which also began in the 1980’s.

The 2023 event saw 2018 Grandview Modified champ and 2019 Freedom 76 winner Mike Gular of Harleysville, Pa. grabbing the triumph. Gular has accumulated five track titles at four different tracks during his still young career, adding the Bruce Rogers Memorial win to his resume.

For the 2024 edition, it was Elizabethtown, N.Y. driver Mike Mahaney scoring the win, becoming the third New York State driver to do so. Second generation racer Mahaney also is currently enjoying a fine young career that has seen him pick up six track titles at four different locations in his home state.

The 2025 VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Memorial was captured by Grandview regular Brian HIrthler of Green Lane, Pa., who has enjoyed a fine career in the track’s T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Sportsman division where he is the all-time win leader and a three-time track champion. The 2025 race saw Hirthler taking the win in his first full season with the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modifieds, after having competed in various Modified events over the last couple of seasons which also saw him score a Thunder on the Hill series Modified triumph.

So with a lengthy list of championships behind the drivers who have accomplished a win in the first eight VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Memorial Money Makers, we can only wait and see who the next championship caliber driver may be to pick up a checkered flag on Opening Night!

The 2026 racing season at Grandview Speedway officially begins on Saturday, April 4 with the 9th annual VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Memorial Money Maker which is open to both Big and Small Block Modified competitors. The racing program will include qualifying events leading up to the feature race which will be 50-laps, paying a cool $7500 to win as well as $1000 to take the green flag in the main event!

The T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment 602 Sportsman will also begin their season on the Opening Night program in a full show which includes qualifying events and a 25-lap feature race.

Race time on Opening Night is set for 6 pm, with pit gates opening at 1 pm, grandstand gates opening at 4 pm, with the drivers meeting at 4 pm, followed by the draw for position, then warm-ups at 5 pm.

Grandstand admission for Adults is $30, Students ages 10-15 with ID are $20, while children ages 9 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $40 with a license and $45 without a license.

The VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Memorial will also feature a special opening to the program as the Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) unit from North Penn High School will be on hand for the opening ceremonies to present our Nation’s flags for the National Anthem.

The unit is under the direction of ROBERT P. STORM, SMSgt, AZANG, (Ret.) Aerospace Science Instructor at North Penn High School, they will be a great addition to the history and tradition of the Grandview Speedway 64th anniversary Season Opener!

Grandview Speedway management is reminding all competitors that the Opening Night program will be sanctioned by NASCAR and will be the first point race of the new campaign for both the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modifieds and the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Sportsman divisions toward both the track and NASCAR Local Racing Series Powered by O’Reilly Auto Parts Championships.

For the Bruce Rogers Memorial event, all drivers are welcome to compete as in years past, and if any driver is not a track regular, the Speedway will cover the cost of the $25 temporary NASCAR license for the driver for this one night of competition.

There is no entry fee for the VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Memorial, however drivers are encouraged to pre-enter by calling or texting 484.256.4375, providing the driver’s name, contact information and phone number.

Drivers are also reminded to visit the speedway website at www.grandviewspeedway.com and click on the rules/forms tab, then print and fill out a W-9 form and bring it with them to the track on Opening Night. The W-9 form must be provided to the pit office to be eligible for drivers to draw for heat race starting spots and to receive any earnings for the night.

Saturday, April 11 is set aside as a rain date if needed for the season opener, and once again as was the case the last several seasons, there will not be a fuel truck at the speedway on a weekly basis, so race teams need to plan accordingly.

Since the 1960’s, Grandview Speedway has been presenting exciting wheel to wheel NASCAR stock car racing every Saturday Night starting in April and running through October, plus special events.
