to the Grandview Speedway!
On Sunday, June 22nd, the first
Open Wheel Spectacular featuring the Hilborn Tri-State Race Saver (TSRS) Sprint
Cars and the wingless midgets of the American Racing Drivers Club
The cancellation of the first
scheduled event in May has only served to heighten the anticipation for the fans
and competitors alike as they prepare for Sunday night racing to return to the
Both the 2013 ARDC Champion and
TSRS Champion, are looking forward to the Sunday night Open Wheel Spectacular at
Grandview. A Sunday night win at
Grandview, is a goal for both Trevor Kobylarz and Mike Haggenbottom. Kobylarz stated, "A lot of people have told
me how they used to attend those Sunday night races at Grandview. With this being our (ARDC) 75th Anniversary,
it reconnects us to a part of our history that was very popular." Kobylarz continued, "Grandview is one of my
favorite tracks.We consider Grandview to be our home track since it is the
closest to home of anywhere we race."
Haggenbottom had similar feelings
about racing at Grandview. "We love this
track," the TSRS Champion said of Grandview. "There”s nothing like racing a sprint car on a dry, slick track when you
can just let the car float on the top of the corners."
Kobylarz is still seeking his
first win of the season but does have a Grandview Victory under his belt from
last season. Haggenbottom has one win in
2014 but would like to add a Grandview Speedway victory to his list of
Mother Nature has made an impact
on the 2014 racing season and both ARDC and TSRS have been effected. ARDC has completed six programs to date.
