GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY NOW HAS AN OFFICIAL CHAPLAIN, FREE-TO-THE-PUBLIC PRACTICE STILL ON THE SCHEDULE FOR MARCH 29TH

BECHTELSVILLE,
PA?~ A little prayer just may help as Grandview Speedway
continues to move toward their popular Free-to-the-Public practice session set
for Saturday, March 29th at noon.

 Weather conditions have created
havoc for auto racing events scheduled at area speedways so far this season but
management at the Bechtelsville racing facility still hopes to be able to
present the practice session. It gives racers the opportunity to test and tune
their new equipment before the season opens officially on Saturday, April 5, 7
p.m.

 New to Grandview Speedway this
season will be Pastor Don Kerns. The Boyertown, PA resident will serve as the
track chaplain and that is a first for the Berks County clay
oval.

Pastor Kerns is a longtime fan of
motorsports and has over the years been involved in the sport as a Stoudt Auto
Sales Corvette pace car driver at Grandview and other area tracks. He is a
graduate of Lancaster, PA Bible College and he has served as pastor of Calvary
Evangelical Congregational Church in Birdsboro, PA. He is a licensed pastor by
the ECC denomination. He is married, wife Karen, and they have two children,
Eric and Lauren. Don is also employed by
Fred Beans Ford of Boyertown delivering parts.

Pastor Kerns plans to be available
for the open practice session on March 29th and will be saying some
extra prayers in an effort to help with improving the weather conditions as that
date gets closer. He does plan to be at most events during the 2014 racing
season. His intent is to be available if anyone desires his services and just to
build relationships. During the season Don will be offering a prayer prior to
the National Anthem at several of the scheduled races. He will also make himself
available for spiritual guidance or any other pastoral needs of teams, staff and
fans.

?I will be saying some extra prayers
for the Speedway and the racers,? said Pastor Kerns. ?I know that fans and
racers are anxious to get the season started and bring an end to the difficult
winter we have had.?
