WILL THERE BE A NEW WINNER FOR THE BPG RACING FREEDOM 76 AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY

BECHTELSVILLE, PA September 7, 2008 . . . ~ There have been so many great dirt track modified racers that have won the BPG Racing Freedom 76 at Grandview Speedway and a few of them will be back to try for another $20,000 payday.

The big question is will there be a new winner in victory lane when the Freedom 76 Modified Classic is over on Saturday, September 13th?

In the past racers such as Billy Pauch, Fred Rahmer, Kenny Brightbill, Doug Hoffman, Craig VonDohren, Meme DeSantis, Duane Howard, Jeff Strunk and others have made it to victory lane.

This year a few past winners will be back looking for a win but a lot of attention will be centered on some of the young talents that have not won the BPG Racing Freedom 76.

Jason Hamilton, a winner of the rich Forrest Rogers Memorial in the past, will be looking to add the Freedom 76 to his resume. And there are youngsters such as Mike Gular, Billy Pauch Jr.,  Ryan Godown, Don Norris, Tommy Scheetz Jr., Kerry Kratz, Tom Umbenhauer, Doug Manmiller, Brad Missimer and a long list of others who are just “chomping at the bit” to claim the $20,000 plus first place money. Who knows how many visitors, racers from other tracks, will decide to test their skills in the 38th annual Freedom 76? Dirt track legend Jimmy Horton is one invader that has made it known he will be there.

The recent announcement that Doug Hoffman would return to racing driving the Chad Sinon owned BPG Racing Troyer modified as a teammate to Duane Howard has created increased interest in the race. Hoffman won the race in 1984 and has a guaranteed starting spot as a past winner within the last 25 years.

The BPG Racing Freedom 76, starting at 7 p.m., will include a full series of qualifying events, the Schaeffer Motorsports Minuteman 20 (last chance to make the main event), the Alpine Building & Post Supply Cash Dash (paying $1,000 to win) and the big finale, the BPG Racing Freedom 76 which could be starting as many as 40 cars.

BPG Racing has hundreds of giveaways for fans.

Prior to the race the Beer City BPG Racing Freedom Fest will be presented starting at 1 p.m. and it will include Line-X Dunk Tank, Diamond Glass/First Class Tint Tire Changing Contest, race car display, driver interviews, and much more. The new Freedom 76 t-shirts will be on sale along with the 52-page Grandview Groove Freedom 76 special edition.

Proceeds from the Beer City Freedom Fest will go to benefit the Camelot House for Children in Allentown, PA.

Tickets for the BPG Racing Freedom 76 are priced at $25 for adults, $7 for youngsters 6 thru 11 and under 6 are admitted FREE when accompanied by a paying adult. Pit passes are priced at $40. There is free parking on the speedway grounds.

Grandview Speedway is located on Passmore Road, just off Route 100, in Bechtelsville, PA, 10 miles north of Pottstown. For information telephone 610.754.7688 or check their website at
