HEARN AND VAN HORN ENTER BPG RACING FREEDOM 76  
  

BECHTELSVILLE, PA September 9, 2008 . . . ~ The list of entries for the Saturday, September 13th BPG Racing Freedom 76 Modified stock car race at Grandview Speedway continues to grow and become more impressive.
 
Brett Hearn, considered by many to be the best dirt short track stock car racer in the business, has announced that he will be trying for a starting spot in the $20,000 to win BPG Racing Freedom 76 Modified Classic. The veteran racer will be at the wheel of the Vinnie Salerno owned Four Star Transmission No. 4 which he races at Orange County Speedway and Albany Saratoga Speedway.
 
2008 Orange County Speedway Big Block Modified champion David Van Horn will once again be entering the Freedom 76. Van Horn will be driving a car owned by Dick Biever and normally driven by young Josh Biever.
 
Hearn and Biever join an already impressive list of entries that includes dirt track legends Doug Hoffman, making his first 2007 start, Jimmy Horton and Kenny Brightbill.
 
Former BPG Freedom 76 winners Duane Howard, Meme DeSantis, and Ray Swinehart are expected to be in the field of entries along with six time track champion Craig VonDohren and seven time champion (including 2008) Jeff Strunk.
 
Young talents such as Mike Gular, in a second Glenn Hyneman Gold Rush Custom Trailers entry, Doug Manmiller, Kerry Kratz, Ryan Godown, and a host of others will be in the field. More than 70 entries are expected for the Classic.
 
Included in the BPG Racing Freedom 76 events will be a full series of qualifying events, the Schaeffer Motorsports Minuteman 20 (last chance to make the big race), the Alpine Building and Post Supply sponsored Cash Dash (paying $1000 to win, and it is all topped off by the 76 lap feature race paying $20,000 to the winner. More than $1,000 in lap sponsorship money has also been posted.
 
Advance ticket holders will be admitted at 3 p.m. with ticket windows opening at 3:30 p.m. Warm up sessions will get the green flag at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.
 
Adult tickets are priced at $25, youngsters 6 thru 11 pay $7 and under 6 are admitted FREE when accompanied by a paying adult.
 
Earlier in the day, 1 p.m., the Beer City BPG Racing Freedom Fest will take place and will include a dunk tank with several well known racers and personalities participating, a tire changing contest, race car display, autograph sessions, driver interviews and much more. Proceeds of the Freedom Fest will go to the Camelot Home for Children in Allentown.
 
The rain date for the BPG Racing Freedom 76 is Saturday, September 20th following the same schedule. If the rain date is not needed Allstate Insurance will present a tripleheader show of NASCAR 358 Modifieds, Late Models and SpeedSTRS starting at 7 p.m. This will be the final point race events of 2008.
 
Coming up on Saturday, September 27th, 7 p.m. is an open competition wings and things modified (any engines and open tire rule) and late model doubleheader.
