POINT BATTLES ARE TIGHT FOR STOCK CAR RACERS AT GRANDVIEW, NASCAR STOCKS IN ACTION ON SATURDAY, MIDGETS AND SPRINTS IN OPEN WHEEL SPECTACULAR ON SUNDAY

Bechtelsville,
PA?~ It may be early in the stock car racing season at
Grandview Speedway but the battle for the lucrative NASCAR point titles are
about as tight as they could be. And the points could tighten up even more as
NASCAR stock car racing will be the attraction at the Bechtelsville clay oval on
Saturday (May 3) with the NASCAR 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman
stockers featured in a tripleheader show of racing
action.

Mike Gular, without a feature win to
his credit, sits on top of the NASCAR 358 Modified standings. Gular, who has not
been a champion at Grandview, is in front of nine time track champion Jeff
Strunk by just four points. Third is DIRT Hall of Famer Frank Cozze just 69
points behind followed by past champion Duane Howard. Less than 130 points
separate the top four.

Jared Umbenhauer, a two time defending
Sportsman champion, leads the standings in the Sportsman division by 111 points
over Brett Kressley. Umbenhauer has three straight feature wins headed into the
Saturday night action.

Randy Stoudt, winner of one feature
this season and 58 during his career at Grandview, heads up the Late Model
standings. He has an 11 point edge over six time champion Chuck Schutz. If
Stoudt can win this Saturday night he will become the all-time leading Late
Model career feature winner.

At least 12 events of stock car racing
will make up the Saturday night show featuring the 358 Modifieds, BRC Late
Models and Sportsman stock cars. Racing starts at 7:30 p.m., the new starting
time in place for the balance of the season, with spectator gates open at 5:30
p.m. As usual the a Low Down & Dirty Meet and Greet will feature a driver
and car from each division at the main gate at 5:30 pm and this week it will be
Jordan Umbenhauer, Jason Miller and Craig Whitmoyer.

Those fans of exciting short track
auto racing, those who have been around for a while, will probably remember back
years ago when American Racing Drivers Club midgets and United Racing Club (now
called company) raced in doubleheader Sunday night shows are nearby Grandview
Speedway and the Sunday night attraction is returning?..at least for four events
this season.
