Duane Howard, three firsts and two seconds to his credit, leads the NASCAR 358 Modified standings and Chuck Schutz, with two wins, leads the Late Model standings in a close battle with Danny Snyder at Grandview Speedway.
A full slate of qualifying events leads up to a 30-lap NASCAR 358 Modified feature ( 46 modifieds trying for the feature last Saturday) and a 20-lap NASCAR Late Model feature set for Grandview this Saturday. The June 4th night is sponsored by Jesse Baro Trucking.
Adult admission is $14 for adults, $5 for youngsters 6 thru 11 and FREE admission for kids under 6.
We will be giving away free tickets for the June 11th appearance of the URC sprint cars and 358 Modifieds. Russell Newberry, star of Deadliest Catch, will be on hand to serve as honorary starter, meet fans and sign autographs. Kirsten Sowers, an 11 year old, will sing the National Anthem. Both her and Newberry will be raffling off sports items to raise funds for Kirsten Kares Foundation.
We will auction (silent auction) off a hospitality suite and six tickets for the June 11th show sponsored by BPG Racing. Minimum bid is $100. You can participate in the auction on Saturday, June 4th. Money will go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a charity that battles cancer.
Then on Sunday, June 5th, the NEETS Enduros will race in two 100-lap features and a shorter feature for the ladies, the Outlaw Slingshots will race in qualifying events leading up to a $500 to win feature (courtesy of Mike Feltenberger’s Strapped In Magazine) and twin 15-lap features for the Vintage Modifieds. Warm-ups are set for noon while racing starts at 1 p.m. Admission is just $10.
