BECHTELSVILLE, PA The Late Model stock cars will be featured in a 30-lap Memorial race paying at least $1,200 to win at Grandview Speedway on Saturday, September 3rd thanks to the efforts of track official Mark Garman.
The Late Model race will be run to remember those who were involved at the speedway over the years and have passed on.
Garman has been beating the bushes to raise funds so that the Late Models will be racing for the $1,200 to win plus increased prize money down through the entire starting field with at least $150 going to the last place finisher.
The NASCAR 358 Modifieds will be in action as a second part of the doubleheader show with a 30-lap main event paying $2,500 to the winner. Jeff Strunk, Craig VonDohren and Duane Howard continue their battle for the lucrative track title.
Only two point races remain in the chase for the Late Model and 358 Modified titles.
Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. while racing starts at 7:30 p.m.
The Vince’s Towing Legends Owners race, rained out twice so far this season, has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 10th as part of the Green Lane Wm. Penn/ Four Star Lettering Night. The Late Models and 358 Modifieds will be featured in their final point events of the season and champions will be declared in both divisions.
The Sidewinder Sprints, rained out on August 27th, could not be rescheduled this season.
Lap sponsorships for the BPG Racing Freedom 76, set for September 17th, still remain available for just $10 each except for laps 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 which are priced at $25. The money goes to the leader of each lap. Lap sponsors are mentioned on the public address system, featured on the huge electronic message board and listed in the track magazine for that evening.
