Many of the best known names in dirt track modified stock car racing will be seen at Grandview Speedway on Saturday (September 17th, 7 p.m.) as the 41ST annual BPG Racing Freedom 76 is presented. With $20,000 plus lap prize money being offered for the victory legends in the sport will be on hand including Billy Pauch, Jimmy Horton, Jeff Strunk, Craig VonDohren, Duane Howard, and others will be on hand.
Canadian Stewart Friesen will team with local hot shoe Ryan Godown to go after the big win and there will be other local talent including Billy Pauch Jr., Mike Gular, Terry Meitzler and host of others.
Just added to the list of “outsiders” planning to compete in the Freedom 76 is New York State modified ace Alan Johnson who will be in the Kyle Weiss owned No. 21K. Weiss is missing the race because of a shoulder operation this week. And Wade Hendrickson, one of the top Modified racers in the area, has let us know that he will trying to earn a starting spot in the BPG Racing Freedom 76 on Saturday.
A full series of qualifying events along with a $1,000 to win Cash Dash and a Schaefer Motorsports Minuteman 20 will lead up to the Freedom 76 Classic.
Spectator gates open at 4 p.m. for advance ticket holders. Ticket window opens at 4:30 p.m. and racing gets the green at 7 p.m. Adult admission is $30, kids 6 thru 11 pay $10 and youngsters under 6 are admitted Free. There is free parking on the speedway grounds and several home owners across from the speedway offering parking for a small fee.  Pit passes are $40 and no special membership license is required.
Rain date, following the same schedule, is set for September 24th. If the rain date is not needed then it will be used to present an open competition doubleheader of the modifieds and late models starting at 7 p.m.. This event will close out the regular Saturday night season of racing at Grandview.
In the afternoon on September 17th, prior to the BPG Racing Freedom 76, the Auto Glass Specialties Freedom Fan Fest will be presented starting at 1 p.m. and will feature race car displays, autograph opportunities, LineX dunk tank, driver interviews and much more.
Plan to purchase a BPG Racing Freedom 76 special Grandview Groove program which includes the final point standings, listing everyone that earned points at the track this season in 358 Modified and Late Model competition. A complete listing all feature winners since the track opened. Pit notes are included with lots of facts and information. The centerfold contains full page color photos of the champions Jeff Strunk and Chuck Schutz along with their race cars. There will be two full pages of color car shots plus the beautiful color covers. Truly a collectors item for just $5 while the supply lasts.
