BECHTELSVILLE, PA The battle for the NASCAR Whelen All American Series 358 Modified championship features point leader Duane Howard and challengers Jeff Strunk and Craig VonDohren. Between the three of them they account for 19 titles won at NASCAR sanctioned Grandview Speedway.
Amazing is the fact that Strunk and VonDohren have not won a feature race despite the season being one third complete and Howard has won four features.
This Saturday, June 2nd, 7:30 p.m. the battle continues as the NASCAR 358 Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman are featured in a tripleheader racing card sponsored by USG.
All three divisions will take part in qualifying events leading up to the best racers of the night running in a 30-lap NASCAR 358 Modified feature race, a 25-lap feature for Sportsman and a 20-lap main event for the Late Models.
The Checkered Flag Fan Club will be on hand to honor the feature winners and the winners that are members of the organization will receive club jackets. The club, one of the oldest and largest in the nation supporting all forms of racing, will have representatives on hand to sign up new members and renewal memberships.
Close to 100 race cars were on hand for the last tripleheader show back on May 17th and it is expected that the Saturday show will again attract a large number of racers.
With last Saturday’s racing events rained out racers will be anxious to get back in action and that should make for an exciting night of stock car racing entertainment.
Adult admission is $15 while youngsters 12 and under are admitted FREE. Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m.
Grandview Speedway, a one-third-mile, banked clay track, is located on Passmore Road just off Route 100 in Bechtelsville, PA, 10 miles north of Pottstown.
