BECHTELSVILLE, PA Duane Howard has won seven features in the NASCAR 358 Modifieds at Grandview Speedway this season. He is having one of those seasons that most racers only dream about.
However winning is not as easy as it once was. Jarrad Miller beat him a few weeks back. Chris Esposito came close to topping Howard a couple weeks back and last Saturday fans are still wondering how Howard was able to win that 30-lap NASCAR 358 Modified feature.
Another strong field of racers will be on hand this Saturday, June 30th, when Bechtelsville Car Wash Night will feature the NASCAR 358 Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman in another exciting night of entertaining stock car racing. There will even be a Bechtelsville Car Wash Cash Dash for the top performers during the night of 358 Modified racing.
Last Saturday Jon Kellner Sr., Doug Manmiller and Kyle Follweiler looked like they were going to be able to top Howard but he “pulled one out of the hat” and charged to the win in the final two laps. Those three drivers plus a host of others will be making every effort to keep point leader Howard from adding win number eight to his season’s production.
There is also plenty of action for the Late Models and Sportsman stock cars. Chuck Schutz continues to hold off Danny Snyder in the chase for the Late Model championship while Craig Whitmoyer has been using consistent performance to lead the point battle in the Sportsman division.
At least 12 events of racing will be presented on Bechtelsville Car Wash Night with a 30-lap feature topping the action for the Modifieds, a 25 lap feature for the Sportsman and a 20-lap main event for the Late Models.
Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m with green flag racing starting at 7:30 p.m. Pits are open at 4 p.m. Adult admission is just $15 while youngsters 12 and under are admitted free.
Make plans to be at Grandview Speedway on Saturday, July 7th when the annual Firecracker 40 for Late Models is presented as part of Baro Trucking Night. There will be a fan pleasing Fireworks Display plus there will be racing for the NASCAR 358 Modifieds. There will be no Sportsman included as part of this show. In addition Kory Fleming and Sponsors will be giving away some bicycles for lucky kids in the stands. Admission for the Holiday special will be $20 while youngsters 6 through 12 pay just $5 and kids under 6 get in FREE.
