PA March 20, 2014 . . . Fans turning out for the annual Free-to-the-Public
practice session at Grandview Speedway on Saturday, March 29th will
get to see quite a variety of race cars. The noon time test and tune session
will allow racers to show off their new equipment and make sure everything is
ready for the new season which could be one of the very best seen at the Berks
County clay oval.†
It is expected that there will be
many different types of race cars taking part in the practice session including
NASCAR 358 Modifieds, Late Models, Sportsman, Sprints, Midgets, Enduro cars,
Vintage racers and many more. And there
are some new drivers expected to be part of racing action at Grandview plus
veteran drivers in new rides for the 2014 season.
No one will actually win practice
but the sessions just may shine a light on racers to watch when the point battle
The green flag will fall for the
start of the NASCAR point battles on Saturday, April 5, 7 p.m. with the NASCAR
358 Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman featured in a tripleheader card of
action packed stock car racing. Seven time NASCAR Modified champion Craig
VonDohren will be kicking off defense of his 2013 championship
Racers in all three divisions are
reminded that tires with the BGP stamp on them will be allowed up to and
including Memorial Day weekend, after that only tires with the GVIEW stamp will
be allowed for use at Grandview Speedway.
Again in 2014 T.P. Trailers of
Limerick is adding bonus bucks to the winnerís money in each division provided
the winning cars are carrying clearly visible T.P. Trailers decals. The Modified
winner will earn an extra $250 while $100 will go to the winners in the Late
Model and Sportsman divisions.
Practice day will also offer fans a
great opportunity to purchase their season pass, $350, which covers all the
Saturday night racing events presented between April 5th and the end
of September. Season pass holders have the opportunity to select a reserved seat
to be used by them for the entire season.
Adult admission for the regular
Saturday night events remains the same at $15 while young people, 12 and under,
are admitted to the regular events for FREE. There is free parking on the
