PA As long as the weather person cooperates dozens of race
cars, all types, are expected to take to the track at Grandview Speedway on
Saturday, March 29th at noon. The free-to-the-public practice session
will offer racers from a variety of different divisions of competition the
opportunity to test and tune their new equipment for the 2014 season and fans
will have the opportunity to see what their favorites have to
Speedway management has also announced
a change in their tire situation for the 2014 season. It had been said that
tires stamped with BGP would not be allowed in competition after Memorial Day
weekend. Track owner Bruce Rogers and Lias Tire (manufacturer of American Racer
tires) have decided to allow the use of BGP stamped tires for the entire 2014
season but suggest that teams go to the new GVIEW stamped tire as soon as
“We want to allow the racers a fair
amount of tire to use the older BGP tires and did not want to have racers face a
financial hardship by forcing them to go to the newer GVIEW tire early in the
season,” said track owner Bruce Rogers. “We feel this is a fair way to handle
the tire situation.”
The free-to-the-public practice
session allows fans to enjoy the action from the grandstands free of charge.
Everyone entering the pit area will be
charged $30 but NO NASCAR license will be required.
The chase for the lucrative point
championships will get the green flag at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 5th
with a tripleheader show featuring the NASCAR 358 Modifieds, Late Models and
Sportsman stock cars. Gates open at 5 p.m. Adult admission will be $15 while
youngsters 12 and under will be admitted FREE.
Season tickets, priced at $350, will
be available. The season ticket includes a reserved seat for all the Saturday
night events run between April 5 and the end of
NASCAR pit licenses for the drivers
and owners in the 358 Modified division will be $200 for the season while owners
and drivers in the Late Model and Sportsman divisions will pay
Pit admission for the regular Saturday
night NASCAR events will run $30.
Grandview Speedway, a banked
one-third-mile clay track, is located on Passmore Road, just off Route 100, in
