Press Release
Saturday, April 11, 2009

BECHTELSVILLE, PA April 11, 2009 . . . An all day rain that showed no indications of stopping forced Grandview Speedway management to cancel their tripleheader show of stock car and Sidewinder sprint car racing scheduled for Saturday night (April 11th).
“We held off as long as we could before calling the races off,” said promoter Bruce Rogers. “The rain just kept coming down and the weather forecasters kept saying it was going to stop. Unfortunately it was not going to stop soon enough for us to get the track ready for a 7 p.m. start so we had to cancel.”
The NASCAR 358 Modifieds and the Late Models will be back in action on Saturday, April 18th at 7 p.m. with the show sponsored by Auto Locator Magazine. The Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by Virtual Essence Hair Design, postponed by the rain, will be part of the Saturday show. The hunt is open to youngsters 11 years old and younger and will take place at intermission.
No new date has been announced at present for the rained out Sidewinder Sprints that had been scheduled to be part of the April 11th tripleheader.
Admission for the April 18th show will return to the regular price of $13 for adults, $5 for youngsters 6 thru 11 and under 6 will be admitted free. There is always free parking on the grounds of the speedway and fans are invited to bring their own refreshments but no glass bottles are allowed.
Each Saturday night Grandview Speedway will continue their fan stimulus efforts as they give away McDonald’s and Dunkin’ Donuts gift cards, Square One Markets gas cards and a $50 dinner certificate for the Pit Stop Restaurant in Boyertown, PA. Winners will come from lucky program book and rain check holders. The giveaways are sponsored by Jeff Teets’ Salvage Transport Services, Cornerstone Auto Sales of Fleetwood, Bobby Gunther Walsh, Square One Markets of Lehigh Valley and Poconos along with the Pit Stop Restaurant.
Jeff D’Ambrosio Dodge of Downingtown, PA will sponsor the April 25th show that will also feature the NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Late Models.
The first of eight NEETS Enduro events will be presented on Sunday, April 26th. Action will start at 2:30 p.m.
Grandview Speedway is a one-third-mile, banked clay oval track located on Passmore Road, just off Route 100, in Bechtelsville, PA, just 10 miles north of Pottstown. For information telephone 610.754.7688 or visit their website at
