BECHTELSVILLE, PA April 23, 2009 . . . There will be plenty of racing action at NASCAR sanctioned Grandview Speedway this weekend. On Saturday (April 25) the NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Late Model stock cars will be featured in the Jeff D’Ambrosio Dodge sponsored doubleheader starting at 7 p.m.
Duane Howard, a past track champion and current point leader, will be trying to put the BPG Racing/Troyer Race Cars No. 4 into victory lane for the second time this season in the 30-lap feature race topping the action for the modifieds. Jeff Strunk, a seven time track champion, is close behind Howard in the early season point standings as the chase for the lucrative NASCAR and track point championships gets into full swing.
The late model stock car racing action will see past champion Ron Kline, despite having no feature wins, trying to hold on to his point lead against young Kyle Merkel and veteran Randy Stoudt. Both challengers are just a few points behind Kline in the battle for the title.
More than 70 racers are expected to be on hand for the doubleheader show.
Fans will have the opportunity to participate in the fan stimulus program as lucky fans win gift cards from McDonalds, Burger King and Dunkin Donuts along with gas cards from Square One Markets, a dinner certificate from Pit Stop restaurant and game tickets for the Reading Express Indoor Football Team. Some of the prizes are sponsored by Jeff Teets Salvage Transports Services, Cornerstone Auto Sales and Bobby Gunther Walsh/Square One Markets.
The first of eight exciting NEETS Enduro events will be presented on Sunday (April 26th) at 2:30 p.m. and will feature a 100-lap main event for thee 4-cylinder racers along with a 100-lap race for the 6/8 cylinder competitors.
Racing on Saturday, May 2nd will switch to a 7:30 p.m. starting time which will be the regular start for the balance of the season. The NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Late Models will make up the doubleheader show sponsored by National Earth Services. It will also be Checkered Flag Fan Club Night.
