MODIFIEDS AND LATE MODELS IN ACTION ON MAY 2ND ARDC WINGLESS MIDGETS SET FOR MAY 9TH

BECHTELSVILLE, PA APRIL 29, 2009 . . . Another exciting night of NASCAR 358 modifieds and late models in action is set for this Saturday, May 2nd, at Grandview Speedway. More than 70 stock cars are expected to be part of the doubleheader show being sponsored by National Earth Services. In addition the Checkered Flag Fan Club, made up of hundreds of auto racing fans, will be on hand to present awards to the winners. Racing will get the green flag at the new starting time of 7:30 p.m.
 
Past champion Duane Howard, with 896 points, is currently setting the pace in the modified division with seven time champion Jeff Strunk just 53 points behind. Veteran Meme DeSantis in third in the chase for the lucrative point titles with 791 counters.
 
In late models young Danny Snyder sits on top of the standings with 847 tallies while past champion Ron Kline is second with 840 counters. Neither driver has been able to claim a feature victory this season but that could change on Saturday night.
 
The modifieds will run a full series of qualifying events topped by a 30 lap feature starting 28 racers while the late models will run a 20 lap feature after their qualifying events. Admission for adults is just $13 while youngsters 6 thru 11 are admitted for $5 and under 6 can see the great night of racing for FREE.
 
Coming up on Saturday, May 9th is a great tripleheader show of racing action that will have the American Racing Drivers Club wingless midgets as the featured attraction along with the NASCAR 358 modifieds and late models. Dover International Speedway will have representatives on hand to give out some t-shirts and some prizes including tickets to their May 31, 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup race.
 
Heading up the midget racing portion of the tripleheader will be such standouts as Steve Buckwalter, Frank Polmeida, PJ Gargiulo, Nick Wean and a host of others.
 
Adult admission for the May 9th show will be $18 while kids, 6 through 11 are admitted for just $5 and under 6 get in for FREE. There is always free parking on the speedway grounds and fans are invited to bring their own refreshments (no glass bottles please).
 
Fans have great opportunities to win gift cards from McDonald’s, Burger King and Dunkin’ Donuts (courtesy of Jeff Teets Salvage Transport Services and Cornerstone Auto Sales) plus gas cards from Bobby Gunther Walsh and Square One Markets. In addition one lucky fan goes home with a $50 dinner certificate from the Pit Stop in Boyertown. And there are some tickets for the Reading Express Indoor Football games available to a few lucky fans.
