BECHTELSVILLE, PA May 10, 2009 . . . For the first time in his career Jon Kellner Jr. was able to wheel his self-owned Justa Pizza/Pit Stop Restaurant sponsored No. 67 to victory in the 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All American Modified feature race at Grandview Speedway. Defending late model champion Chuck Schutz drove to his first win of the season in the BPG Racing No.1 grabbing the victory in the 20-lap late model feature on Saturday night. The 25-lap feature for the visiting American Racing Drivers Club wingless midgets went to Billy Pauch Jr. in a last lap, final turn maneuver that had fans in the stands wondering how he did that.

Kellner Jr. started on the front row along side Ryan Beltz but as soon as the green flag was unfurled for the 28-car starting field in the 30-lap modified feature the young Lansdale, PA racer charged to the front.

Despite being able to lead all the laps in getting his first feature victory it was not an easy win for the popular youngster. Throughout the feature Ryan Godown, who has been on a hard luck streak throughout the early season, was right on the rear bumper of the leader. Despite a number of efforts to get by Kellner Jr. the Ringoes, NJ based Godown was forced to settle for second. Legendary dirt track racer Doug Hoffman (Allentown) had his best outing of the season gaining a third place finish. Billy Pauch Jr. (Frenchtown, NJ) brought the Pioneer Pole Buildings No. 8p home for a fourth place effort with Doug Manmiller (Shoemakersville) getting fifth.

Duane Howard continued to be the point leader in the chase for the lucrative track and NASCAR point championships as he finish seventh after starting 16th.

The win for Kellner Jr. marked the 90th win for the Kellner family as his grandfather Don, his father Jon Sr. and brother Mike have all been to victory lane at Grandview Speedway during their careers. In fact his dad was able to finish 10th in the same feature race and earn the Cornerstone Auto Sales of Fleetwood Hard Charger award after starting 22nd.

Bill Henning charged to the front in the 20-lap late model feature and had control of the race until almost the midway point when John Favinger was able to charge to the front after Ron Kline, the feature winner on the previous Saturday, brought out the caution coming to a stop in turn two.

Young Favingerís lead was short lived as Chuck Schutz took command on the 11th circuit of the one-third-mile, banked clay oval and went on to victory. Schutz (Pottstown) started ninth spot. Favinger (Coatesville) was able to bring his Pink Panther No. 18 home second right on the rear of the leader. Third place was earned by Randy Stoudt (Pottstown) coming from 11th starting position. Brian Shuey (Shoemakersville) finished fourth while early leader Bill Henning (Lansdale) came home fifth.

With his third place finish Randy Stoudt took over the lead in the point battle for the NASCAR late model title.

Chris Wojnar charged through the field to finish 11th after starting 22nd to unofficially collect the Cornerstone Auto Sales Hard Charger Award.

The Cargo Trailer Sales merchandise certificates go to Jon Kellner Sr. and Doug Walton for their 10th place finishes. And Jon Kellner Jr. and John Favinger earned the Danís Deli Halfway Leader Awards.

Billy Pauch Jr., driving the Burke Trucking No. 54 for the first time, was able to take benefit of a couple miscues of the leaders as they battled for the victory in the fourth turn of the final lap, grabbing the lead just short of the checkered flag and earning his first career midget feature win. Finishing behind the Frenchtown, NJ racer was Steve Buckwalter who came from 16th starting spot. Frank Polimeda came home third while Drew Heistand, who had led most of the feature, was credited with fourth followed by Bruce Buckwalter.

Qualifying heat wins in the NASCAR 358 Modifieds went to Ryan Beltz, Meme DeSantis, Ryan Godown and Terry Meitzler. Bill Gensler, a veteran of more than 30 years of competition, won the first consolation with Jon Kellner Sr. getting the second consolation victory.

The late model heats were won by Chuck Schutz, rookie Andy Ressler and Mike Kellner.

Brett Arndt, Carey Becker and Drew Heistand won the ARDC midget qualifers.

Close to 100 cars took part in the tripleheader show.
