BECHTELSVILLE, PA MAY 21, 2009 . . . Two and three quarter stock car racing feature events will be presented on Saturday night, May 23rd, at Grandview Speedway for the price of two. The bonus night of racing is sponsored by Whelen.
How does this happen? Only eight laps of the 30-lap NASCAR 358 modified stock car feature race were presented last Saturday night before torrential rains brought racing to a stop. The remaining 22 laps will be completed as the first event on Saturday with Tommy Scheetz III in front of the 29 car starting field and looking for his second career victory. Racing will start at 7:30 p.m.
Once the three quarter modified race is completed all attention will turn to a complete show of NASCAR 358 modified and late model stock car racing. A full series of qualifying events will be presented with the best performers getting to compete in the 30-lap 358 modified feature and the 20-lap late model feature.
Competition is keen as Duane Howard goes into the night with just a narrow edge over Jeff Strunk in the chase for the lucrative title. And Randy Stoudt, the driver who wins most often in the late models, is leading the standings in that division. Admission for that racing excitement is just $13 for adults, $5 for youngsters 6 through 11 and under 6 are admitted FREE.
The first 500 paying fans that enter the main grandstand gate will receive a free ticket for the ARCA RE/MAX Series race at Pocono on June 6th (a $25 value). In addition fans will have the opportunity to win tickets for the Pocono 500 Sprint Cup race on June 7th.
In addition there are the usual great fan giveaways that include gift cards for McDonald’s, Burger King and Dunkin Donuts all sponsored by Salvage Transport Services and Cornerstone Auto Sales. Square One Markets and Bobby Gunther Walsh has $25 gas cards for some lucky fans. There is a $25 dinner certificate for Applebee’s and a $50 dinner certificate for the Pit Stop Tavern and Restaurant in Boyertown.
On Sunday, May 24th the second NEETS Enduro of the season is presented starting at 2:30 p.m.
And coming up on Saturday, May 30th at 7:30 p.m. is a doubleheader show that will see the NASCAR late models in the limelight as they take part in a 30-lap Memorial race paying $1,000 to win. The race is run in memory of racers, officials and others have were part of the Grandview history and have passed away. In addition there will be one-on-one gauntlet races for the late models. The NASCAR 358 Modifieds will also present a full slate of racing action topped by a 30-lap feature race starting 28 racers.
