THE POINT BATTLE AT GRANDVIEW TIGHTENS IN BOTH DIVISIONS, MODIFIEDS AND LATE MODELS RACE SATURDAY
Wednesday, August 12, 2009

BECHTELSVILLE, PA  Just four point races remain in each division of stock car racing competition at Grandview Speedway for the 2009 season, including this Saturday, August 15th when WNPV-1440 AM Radio sponsors the doubleheader show of NASCAR 358 modifieds and late models. Racing action will get underway at 7:30 p.m.
With Duane Howard winning the 30-lap modified feature last Saturday and Jeff Strunk, the current point leader, finishing out of the top ten, the battle for the lucrative NASCAR Whelen All American Series modified championship has tightened up. Seven time track champion Strunk holds a 106 point edge over Howard.
Craig VonDohren and Meme DeSantis are third and fourth in the standings with outside chances at winning the title if they can put together a series of strong finishes in the final four nights.
The NASCAR late models have a fantastic battle for the title with Randy Stoudt topping the standings with Brian Shuey, Ron Kline, Kyle Merkel, Danny Snyder (last Saturday’s winner ), Mike Kellner and Wayne Pfeil all still very much in the running for the title.
This Saturday’s doubleheader show could very well have a big impact on the point battles as the teams head into the final weeks.
Then on Saturday, August 22nd FHG Services sponsors the NASCAR 358 modifieds and late models in another action packed doubleheader show starting at 7:30 p.m.
A new sponsor gets involved in racing at Grandview Speedway on Saturday, August 29th at 7:30 p.m. when 3 Starz Inc. Landscaping Night featuring the NASCAR modifieds, late models and American Racing Drivers Club wingless midgets. Dover International Speedway will be there with their popular tire changing contest that earns lucky fans tickets for coming events.
The month closes out with a NEETS Enduro competition featuring 4, 6 and 8 cylinder racers starting at 2:30 p.m.
Grandview Speedway is located at 43 Passmore Road in Bechtelsville, PA, just off Route 100, 10 miles north of Pottstown. For race information telephone 610.754.7688 or visit their website at
