BECHTELSVILLE, PA With three wins already to his credit Craig VonDohren will be shooting for his fourth BPG Racing Freedom 76 dirt track modified classic victory at Grandview Speedway on Saturday, September 12th.
If VonDohren, a six time winner of the Grandview NASCAR track title, can win the event, paying $20,000 plus for a victory, it will probably cut the expenses for his car owner as he will be driving a 358 modified owned by BPG Racing, sponsors of the 39th annual event.
VonDohren, winner of the 2008 Freedom 76, joins other guaranteed starters including Forrest Rogers Memorial winner Ryan Godown, 2009 track modified champion Jeff Strunk and recent Thunder on the Hill Big Block Modified feature winner Brett Hearn.
Past winners of the classic that are expected to be seeing action include Ray Swinehart, Meme DeSantis, Billy Pauch, Duane Howard and Tom Mayberry.
More than 70 entries are expected for the BPG Racing Freedom 76.
Of interest to fans will be the announcement that New York modified stock car racing legend Danny Johnson will be driving a second entry for veteran car owner Norm Hansell.
Included in the night of racing will be a full series of qualifying heats, consolation races, the Schaeffer Motorsports Minuteman 20 along with BFP Specialty/Pioneer Pole Building Cash Dash paying $1,000 to win. The BPG Racing Freedom 76 will close out the big night of racing.
Advance ticket holders will be admitted to the speedway grounds at 3 p.m. with ticket windows opening at 3:30 p.m. Adult admission is priced at $25, children 6 thru 11 pay $10 and under 6 are admitted FREE. Pit passes are priced at $40.
Camelot House in Allentown, PA will benefit from the Line-X of Lehigh Valley Freedom Fest taking place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and open free to attendees. Included will be a dunk tank, tire changing competition, race car display, driver interviews and more.
Ms. Motorsports, Alyssa Sharman, will make an appearance at the BPG Racing Freedom 76 and will be giving fans $2 discount coupons good for the Motorsports 2010 presented by StreetBlaze 100 show set for January 29-31 in Oaks, PA.
A September 19th rain date is in place for the Freedom 76 but if it is not needed open competition racing for modifieds, late models and speedstrs will be presented. The “wings and things” show will be sponsored by 3 Starz Inc. Landscaping and will get the green flag at 7 p.m.
