Race cars will fill the Coventry Mall again the first weekend in March at the 2nd Annual Coventry Mall Race Car Show. The show runs from Friday, March 5th through Sunday, March 8th.

“Last year’s show was a huge success,” said event organizer Scott Hoffmaster. “The mall management was very pleased with the turnout and welcomed us back for 2010 with open arms.”

The show will consist of many different forms of race cars, but the primary focus will be on Grandview Speedway and their NASCAR modifieds and late model divisions. With NASCAR sanctioned Grandview Speedway just a few miles up the road from the mall there will be a lot of attention given the successful short track that is entering its 48th year of operation. The Grandview Speedway display will be at center court and plans are to have 2009 late model champion Brian Shuey and 2009 NASCAR modified champion Jeff Strunk being featured. Fans will be able to pick up the 2010 schedule and racers and crew members will be able to get their NASCAR license applications at the show.

The Montgomery County Quarter Midget Club, with their track located in nearby Phoenixville, PA, will also play a large roll in the show. Last year the club had close to 50 quarter midgets in the mall.

Paradise Road Slot Car Raceway, located in Bechtelsville, PA, will return for another year to sponsor the show. This year

Paradise Road
is teaming up with Raceplace Hobbies in the Quakertown Farmer’s Market (Quakertown, PA) and plan on having a slot car track in the mall along with a display featuring their scale slot cars. More information can be found on the raceways at and They will be sponsoring the best appearing awards again this year.

Hoffmaster continues to seek entries for the show. The show is unique in that there is no entry fee being charged for those racers wanting to display their race cars. Hoffmaster can be contacted at

The Coventry Mall is located on Route 724 in Pottstown, PA just a short distance from Grandview Speedway.
