Bechtelsville, Pa. ? Duane Howard continued his quest for his second straight NASCAR Whelen All-American Racing Series modified point championship at Grandview Speedway on Saturday night. The defending point champion worked his way to the front from his 15th starting berth and by the 23rd lap he was in second chasing down leader Don Norris Jr. Howard took command on the 29th lap in the BPG Racing No. 4 and went on to score back-to-back victories in the 40-lap feature for a $4,000 payday. Norris Jr. quickly motored to the front on the initial start trailed by Addison Meitzler, Kyle Weiss, Mike Laise and Danny Erb.

Addison Meitzler stopped in the fourth turn with five laps completed for the first caution. The restart was void when Mike Gular lost a tire causing a six-car tangle between the first and second turns. Weiss charged to the front of the pack on the restart while Norris Jr., Erb, Ray Swinehart and Glenn Strunk diced for positions.

Norris Jr. was back in front on the second 13th lap restart that was caused by a six car fourth turn tangle and then Kenny Gilmore?s spin on the next attempt.

While Norris Jr. showed the way around the 1/3-mile oval, the action behind him brewed between Weiss, Swinehart, Howard and Jeff Strunk. The top five order remained the same for a few laps with Howard marching to the front as the race progressed.

Howard put the Main Engines mount into second on the 23rd lap and set his sights on Norris Jr. who, along with the others, had to deal with lap traffic.

Within a few laps Howard caught Norris Jr. and by the 29th lap Howard was the new leader.

Now that Howard was in command, Norris Jr., Swinehart, J. Strunk and Weiss diced for second through fifth. Attempti
