MISSIMER ACCOMPLISHES MISSION WITH MODIFIED FEATURE VICTORY AT GRANDVIEW

Bechtelsville, Pa. ? Brad ?The Missile? Missimer was sidelined the past two weeks at Grandview Speedway with engine problems and he wasn?t even certain about this Saturday night?s fate. He started the evening off on a good note by winning the second heat and then the next step was the 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Racing Series modified feature sponsored by Auto Locator Magazine.

The Bechtelsville speedster led from green to checkered, but he didn?t have an easy-time of it in the later stages. The comfortable lead Missimer built up was erased by lap traffic, Jon Kellner closed in on him and then it was Danny Erb on his bumper. Ray Swinehart stopped along the backstretch and then pulled away to set up a green, white and checkered finish. Missimer saw Erb get a slight edge on him on the restart and knew he had to compose himself. Missimer held off Erb?s strong bids and went on to score his second career victory at the 1/3-mile oval. Missimer gave most of the credit to Don Schaeffer and the crew for the win, he said, ?he just drives the thing.? It was a nice Mother?s Day present to his mother Tina.

Missimer wasted no time on the initial start trailed by Kellner, Erb, rookie Jarrad Miller and Don Norris Jr., already a feature winner this season.

By the third lap Missimer was opening some distance over his fellow competitors on the cold and windy May evening.

It was only a matter of time before the pack closed in on the back of the 29-car starting grid that were also racing for positions and a little reluctant to move over.

By the Dan?s Deli 1/2-way Hoagie Award mark, the order behind Missimer that reeled him in as the race went on consisted of Kellner, Erb, Norris Jr. and Terry Meitzler.

Erb, who has not been in victory lane since June 25, 2005, overtook Kellner on the 22nd lap and then
