Bechtelsville, Pa. ? Craig Von Dohren was in the right position whenleader Duane Howard and second-place runner Mike Gular tangled going at it for the lead in the 30-lap NASCAR All-American Series modified feature on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway.

On the 21st lap restart Howard pinched Gular into the homestretch wall while Gular challenged him for first. Going into turn two, Gular retaliated and spun Howard out, but Gular continued thinking he was the new leader. Jon Kellner Jr., running sixth, got caught up in the incident and his night was also eliminated as well as Howard, defending point champion, who was towed back to the pits.

Gular was sent to the rear of the pack on the restart for the incident and the turn of events putt Von Dohren in the lead. Von Dohren held off Doug Manmiller, already a feature winner this year, the remaining laps and pulled into victory lane for his second win of the year in the event sponsored by WNPV 1440 FM radio. Von Dohren commented in the winner?s circle that it was a ?gift? win because Howard had the fastest car until Gular spun Howard out. Von Dohren said he still has homework to do on his Grandview car.

Kellner Jr. was the early pacesetter on the initial start trailed by Addison Meitzler, Dan Waisempacher, Brad Grim and Chris Esposito. A second turn mishap in which Jeff Strunk did a slow roll brought out the caution with one lap completed. Also involved and out of contention were Ryan Godown and Jack Swain. Strunk rejoined the race after a quick pit stop. The restart was void when Shawn Reimert stopped in the second turn trailed by a line of fluid. Kellner Jr. was still the leader when action resumed while A. Meitzler, B. Grim, Jordan Umbenhauer and Chris Esposito jockeyed for the remaining positions.

While Kellner Jr. and A. Meitzler diced for first, by the seventh lap B. Grim, Manmiller and Howard completed the top five.

On the eighth lap Kevin Hirthler did a 360 spin, continued without bringing out the yellow, but then cars behind him tangled along the homestretch and a caution came out. Terry Meitzler was the only one unable to continue. Kellner Jr. kept Howard behind him on the restart, but on the tenth lap Howard moved to the front of the pack.

By the Dan?s Deli 1/2-way hoagie mark, the order behind Howard consisted of Gular, Von Dohren, Kellner Jr. and Manmiller.

On the 21st lap Kyle Follweiler spun between the first and second turn right in front of Howard, but Howard and the others avoided contact with him. On the restart with Howard on the inside and Gular outside, Gular was squeezed up toward the homestretch
