Bechtelsville, Pa. ? Craig Von Dohren, behind the wheel of his self-owned No. 1C, sponsored by PPB/Felty Farms, led from the drop of the green until the wave of the checkered in the 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series modified feature on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway. The non-points event was sponsored by Bashore Trucking. Through the luck of the draw Von Dohren started on the pole and wasted no time keeping the Kauffman B-B-Qued Chicken mount ahead of Sammy Piazza, Glenn Strunk, John Willman and Kyle Follweiler.

Doug Manmiller, winner of the Pepsi/Bashore Trucking Challenge match race in which he earned $1,500, was in the third turn wall for the first caution with one lap completed and out of action. Von Dohren held his own on the restart with the order behind him now comprised of Piazza, Strunk, Willman and Addison Meitzler.

Willman overtook Piazza for second on the eighth lap to put his bids in for the lead.

Terry Meitzler was facing the wrong way in the second turn on the ninth lap for the next yellow. Also involved was Follweiler. Von Dohren was still the leader on the restart with Willman trying earnestly to change the status.

The next caution period on lap 13 was for Jimmy Horton IV stopped along the fourth turn wall. The leader continued to be Von Dohren followed by Willman, Kevin Hirthler, Meme DeSantis and Piazza.

By the Dan?s Deli 1/2-way hoagie award, the order behind Von Dohren now consisted of Willman, DeSantis, Hirthler and Strunk.

A fourth turn spin by Danny Erb had the yellow waving with 17 laps completed. A multi-car third and fourth turn accident brought the restart back to the line. Once again Von Dohren was off and running leaving Willman and DeSantis battling for second while Strunk and Hirthler diced for the remaining positions.

Within no time Von Dohren was back to building up a healthy lead distancing himself from the pack.
