BECHTELSVILLE, PA. ? Craig Von Dohren, a six-time Grandview Speedway Modified point champion and current point leader, did a slide job move on Addison Meitzler, the leader since the drop of the green, after the pair took the one lap to go signal and headed down the backstretch. The move worked, Von Dohren was the new leader and he went on to win his fifth NASCAR Whelen All-American Series 30-lap Modified feature at the oval in the event sponsored by WNPV 1440 AM radio. Von Dohren picked up an additional $250 from TP Trailers, the Bobby Gunther-Walsh and sponsors $50 Hard Charger award plus $150 of VP Petroleum Products for using gas.

Addison Meitzler jumped into the early lead at the drop of the green by honorary starter and former driver Harry Turner, followed by Bobby Gunther-Walsh, Andy Ressler, Eric Biehn and Ray Swinehart.

Jon Kellner stopped on the backstretch with a blown engine for the second lap caution. A. Meitzler was still the pacesetter on the restart with pressure from Gunther-Walsh, rookies Tim Buckwalter and Andy Ressler along with Swinehart.

By the seventh lap A. Meitzler had a commanding lead built up with Gunther-Walsh and Buckwalter in their own race for runner-up.

The order behind A. Meitzler at the Dan?s Deli ?-way hoagie mark continued to be Gunther-Walsh, Buckwalter, Ressler and Swinehart.

The yellow was out on the 21st lap for a multi-car tangle between the third and fourth turn that eliminated Meme DeSantis, Duane Howard and Tommy Scheetz III. At the same time Buckwalter, who overtook second on the 19th lap, had to pit with a flat tire, but was able to rejoin the race. The leader continued to be A. Meitzler on the restart with Swinehart now in second.

With five laps to go it was a three-way battle for the lead between A. Meitzler, Swinehart and Von Dohren, who just moved into third after working his way up from 25th.
