BECHTELSVILLE, PA. ? Jon Kellner has been having a somewhat bleak season, but on Saturday night the veteran campaigner turned things around at the 1/3-mile oval.


Kellner?s first win of the season behind the wheel of the Vince Gagliardo-owned No. 41 was no easy task for the Lansdale driver since he had to hold off the challenges of runner-up and third place finishers Duane Howard and Craig Von Dohren for eight laps to become the seventh different NASCAR Whelen All-American Series 30-lap Modified feature winner.


Not being in victory lane since April 21, 2012, Kellner thanked his car owner and crew for sticking by him during the dismal times. In addition to the $2,500 winnings, he received $250 from T.P. Trailers.


Brian Houseknecht grabbed the early lead at the onset trailed by Jon Kellner Jr., Addison Meitzler, Bobby Gunther-Walsh and Mike Laise.


Positions behind Houseknecht were constantly being jumbled around and by the fifth lap chasing him were Kellner Jr., Meitzler, Nate Christman and Tim Buckwalter. Making his bids for a top five spot was Kellner and he advanced two laps later.


At the conclusion of the Dan?s Deli ?-way mark with Houseknecht first, Kellner Jr., Von Dohren, Kellner and Howard completed second through fifth and neither one gave up the charge as they were bumper-to-bumper.
