Bechtelsville, Pa. ? Duane Howard, the current Grandview Speedway point leader, was at the right spot on Saturday night when race leader Craig Von Dohren pitted on the 24th lap when the red came out for another incident because his car kept shutting off before action resumed.

Howard held the lead the remaining laps and went on to win his ninth 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series modified feature. Howard also received $250 from TP Trailers in addition to the top prize money.

The red flag had to be thrown before the first lap could be completed when Mike Laise got crossed up after contact with Mike Weinert. Cars scrambled and eliminated were Mike Gular, who almost rolled and Glenn Owens. The next attempt was null when Kevin Hirthler spun into the first turn infield.

After two attempts the race finally went green with Jeremy Banos at the head of the pack trailed by Carroll Hine III, John Willman, Brad Grim and Ray Swinehart. By the fifth lap Jeff Strunk, on the move from 14th, advanced to fifth.

While battling with Hine III for fourth Strunk made contact with him and as a result Hine III spun in the first turn bringing out the yellow on the eighth lap. On the restart with Banos still first, Swinehart and Strunk got together. Strunk spun and Swinehart got put to the rear for the incident bringing the restart back to the line. On this restart Willman became the new leader and Banos fell off the pace.

Battling for positions behind Willman were Ryan Grim, Nate Christman, B. Grim and Jarrad Miller.

At the conclusion of the Dan?s Deli ?-way hoagie mark, the order behind Willman consisted of R. Grim, Christman, Von Dohren and Doug Manmiller.
