BECHTELSVILLE, PA OCTOBER 16, 2021 . . . . . . . For most of the week there was the forecast for rain on Saturday, October 16 in Bechtelsville, PA. Today’s update at 1 PM is no better and now shows a 90% chance of rain and thunder storms through the afternoon and into the evening. As many of you understand, this is the absolute worse timing for rain as it hampers track preparation and leaves many travelers and race teams wondering what to do. So it is with great disappointment, that we are cancelling the Roaring Triple 20’s Thunder on the Hill Racing Series event at Grandview Speedway tonight, Saturday, October 16. READ MORE...

Chris Windom scored the victory in the Ken Brenn Midget Masters, while Mike Gular won the 30 lap modified feature that took numerous twists and turns until the checker flag fell. BECHTELSVILLE, PA (June 15, 2021) – Two first-time NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series winners fought their way to victory lane on Tuesday night during the AMSOIL USAC National Non-Wing Sprint Car Series and NASCAR 358 Modified doubleheader at Grandview Speedway. Justin Grant of Ione, California kicked off the USAC Eastern Storm Speed Week with a win in the 40 lap $6,000 to win Jesse Hockett Classic as Jared Umbenhauer of Richland, PA won the 30 lap Modified feature paying $3,000 to win. It is with great disappointment that the Thunder on the Hill Racing Series and Grandview Speedway are cancelling their racing program tonight due to excessive rainfall over the past several days and a forecast of additional rain into the evening. The grounds are extremely saturated and the damp and cold weather would not offer comfortable conditions for race fans or competitors. The Triple Roaring 20’s had an entry list of forty-nine modifieds and an expected thirty sportsman entries. USAC NON-WING SPRINTS, RICH IN HISTORY IN BERKS COUNTY, RETURN WITH TWO STOPS AT GRANDVIEW IN 2021, THURSDAY, APRIL 22 & TUESDAY, JUNE 15

BECHTELSVILLE, PA . . . . . Way back in 1956, Oley, PA sprint car driver Tommy Hinnershitz mastered the Reading Fairgrounds Speedway to win the first ever USAC Sprint car show in Berks County. He not only won the first race, but repeated again in 1957 and 1958. Since that time, seventy-two USAC events graced Berks County, taking place at Reading as well as the Grandview Speedway. The USAC history at Reading continued until 1979 when the track closed. The roster of USAC winners at Reading is legendary and to name just a few who join Hinnershitz on the win list include A.J. Foyt, Johnny Thomson, Eddie Sachs, Jim Hurtibise, Roger McCluskey, Bobby Unser, Johnny Rutherford, Red Riegel, Greg Weld, Bruce Walkup, Larry Dickson, Gary Bettenhausen, Toby Tobias, Pancho Carter, Larry “Boom Boom” Cannon, Lee Osborne and Ronnie Shuman. THUNDER ON THE HILL RACING SERIES EVENTS AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY

Thunder on the Hill Racing Series events are held at Grandview Speedway, one of the most historic and celebrated dirt track venues in the Northeastern United States. Located just east of Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania, Grandview Speedway is a one-third-mile, high-banked clay oval that has hosted continuous professional stock car racing since opening in 1963.

Built by Forrest Rogers and operated by the Rogers family for multiple generations, the speedway has become known for its exciting, close-quarters racing and deep roots in grassroots motorsports. The track features weekly competition in divisions such as Modifieds and Sportsman and hosts a variety of special events and touring series throughout the season.
