With an interview with Brett Deyo, Billy Pauch Sr. made this
comment about Bruce Rogers and Grandview Speedway.
Bruce
Rogers: Grandview (Pa.) has been around since, what,
the early 1960's with the Rogers family. I have the utmost
respect for them for being in racing this long. It is a very
hard sport to do that. They've got a neat little racy track.
Bruce has kept Grandview alive. Probably on a weekly basis
if you look at dollar for dollar, Grandview is the best
place to race on a Saturday night. You go there, you race
for a $10,000 prize to win, you race for a $20,000 to win
that is $50,000 next year, you race for a $10,000 point
fund, you race for a NASCAR regional (state) point fund, and
you got a shot at the national. Where can you do that? You
can't do that at New Egypt. Plus now, you have the American
Racer Cup. That's another $10,000. Say you won all that,
you'd probably be at a $200,000 year. That would be like the
World of Outlaws, you know? I think up there is one of the
few tracks that they really care a lot about their drivers -
the rules, the insurance, why they go NASCAR. They are real
good people.

- ~ The Motorsports 2012 Presented by SEF Small Engine Fuels Race Car and Trade Show was a great show. All of us involved with the Grandview Speedway display enjoyed the opportunity to meet so many fans, racers, media and more to talk about the exciting 50th anniversary season that kicks off with a free to the public practice on Saturday, March 31st at noon. All divisions are invited to participate.
