LIMITED RULE CHANGES ANNOUNCED FOR GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY RACERS

BECHTELSVILLE, PA November 9, 2007 . . . With the 2007 season just completed Grandview Speedway management was quick to announce limited rule changes for 2008 and beyond.
?Though the changes are only minor we wanted to let the competitors know early,? said track operator Bruce Rogers. ?This will give the racers plenty of time to get prepared for the new season.?
An important change in the general rules is that the driver helmet standards have been updated to recommend that all racers should be using at least a Snell SA2005 rated helmet.
In the NASCAR Modified division 2350 pounds will be the minimum weight allowed regardless of what engine combination is being used.
The NASCAR Late Model changes include:
* Rear deck and spoiler height combined may not exceed 46 inches. This is a clarification of an existing rule.
* Fuel must be siphoned from the top of the fuel tank. Gravity feed is not permitted.
* A one-way check valve in the fuel tank vent is required.
* Aluminum and steel wheels are permitted, however a racecar using steel wheels will have a minimum weight of 2300 pounds.
* Beadlocks are required only on the right rear wheel.
Any questions regarding rules at Grandview Speedway should be addressed to Mike Kelly at kellymi@ptd.net.
All changes to the rules will be incorporated into the existing rules and will be found, shortly, on the track website at www.grandviewspeedway.com.
At present plans call for the annual free-to-the-public practice session to take place on March 29th.
Additional details and plans regarding the 2008 season will be announced after January 1, 2008.
Season passes will again be offered, including a reserved seat, and information may be had by telephoning the track office at 610.754.7688.
Businesses interested in benefiting from marketing through motorsports at Grandview Speedway can obtain a four-page color brochure outlining all opportunities by telephoning Ernie Saxton Communications, Inc. at 215.752.7797 or e-mailing Esaxton144@aol.com. More than half of the Saturday night events in 2008 already have sponsorship in place.
