MEITZLER AND MANMILLER LOOKING FOR BIG SEASONS AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY

BECHTELSVILLE, PA February 26, 2006 . . . When the 2006 stock car racing season gets the green flag at Grandview Speedway, officially, on Saturday, April 1st, NASCAR Modified stars Terry Meitzler and Doug Manmiller will have new rides.
Meitzler, winner of the 1999 NASCAR Modified track championship, will be driving a new Bicknell Modified creation. He will be back with the same team, owner Don Schaeffer, as he was in 2005 when he was able to finish the season with a strong third place effort in the final NASCAR point standings. He had a feature win, five top five finishes and 11 top 10 finishes.
The Kutztown, PA racer, a crowd favorite, is looking to add to his 20 career Modified wins at the Berks County oval and being a contender for the lucrative track title that carries some serious cash at the end of the season.
Grandview Speedway offers two separate point funds for the Modified racers with money posted by track owners Bruce and Theresa Rogers plus point fund money from NASCAR. In addition the Modified racers have the opportunity to earn as much as $25,000 for winning the NASCAR Division II title.
Another crowd favorite is Doug Manmiller. The talented Modified racer finished a dismal 11th in the final point standings in 2005. With Keith Brightbill deciding to take his career in a different direction and leave the Rod Breitenstein No. 14 NASCAR Modified team, Manmiller was offered the open seat and jumped at the opportunity.
The Breitenstein mount is one of the top rides at Grandview and Manmiller is anxious to get the season started.
The Wyomissing, PA driver could be a contender for the track title in 2006.
Both Meitzler and Manmiller will have plenty of competition with the return of three time track champion Duane Howard, five time track champions Jeff Strunk and Craig VonDohren, two time track champion Ray Swinehart along with Jon Kellner, Mike Gular, Ryan Watt, Meme DeSantis and a host of other top performers.
A free-to-the-public practice session, open to racers in all types of racing competition, is set for Saturday, March 25th at noon.
The season officially will get the green flag on Saturday, April 1st; 7 p.m. with the NASCAR sanctioned Modifieds and Late Models in competition. The Modifieds will race in a 40-lap opening night special that will pay $3,000 to win.
New to the schedule this season is the First Annual Spring Time Race Car Flea Market set for Saturday, March 18th at 7 a.m.  Open to the public FREE of admission charge there is a $10.00 per space charge for those wanting to sell items. It is open to vendors, collectible sellers and dealers. There will be food and refreshments available.
