RAIN STOPS THE THUNDER TONIGHT AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY

With heavy rain currently falling at Grandview Speedway and the forecast of a 90% chance of rain throughout the day and evening, it is with great disappointment, we are announcing the cancellation of tonight’s, (Tuesday, August 21) Grandview THUNDER 5-25’s racing program.  A great night of racing was planned to include more then one-hundred race cars competing in the features only program.  The 410 Sprints, 358 NASCAR Modifieds, 600 Sprints, Rolling Thunder Legends and the 600 Modifieds were the featured divisions of the night.  Also on the program was a special exhibition by many of the go-kart competitors who race weekly at the Shellhammer’s Speedway.  At this time, there is no make-up date for this event although we will scrub the local speedway schedules to see if we could find a date that would work without conflict.  The staff of Thunder on the Hill would like to thank all the competitors who agreed to participate in this fan favorite event.

The next NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series event is set for Saturday, October 20 with the Annual House of Thunder Halloween Party and Grandview THUNDER 5-25’s.  Race time is set for 6 PM and the five featured divisions will include the URC Spooky Sprints, the NASCAR Nasty Modifieds, the Looney Late Models, Ghostly Legends and the 600 Monster Modifieds.  The Garden State Vintage Stocks Cars will return to thrill the fans as they did at last years event.  It’s a Halloween party so come dressed for the occasion.

Don’t forget, the Grandview Speedway presents weekly NASCAR Modified and Late Model stock car racing every Saturday night with action getting underway at 7:30 PM.  The THP Freedom 76 is set for Saturday night, September 8, paying $20,000 to the winner of the 76 lap Modified Classic.  Admission for adults will be $25 with the grandstand gates opening at 3 PM.    The pit gates will open at 10 AM. This is always a great show so plan on attending Grandview Speedway, Saturday night, September 8.
