BECHTELSVILLE, PA ~ Just a few days after a huge crowd turned out to see Meme DeSantis ride to victory in the BPG Racing Freedom 76 Modified stock car racing classic at Grandview Speedway, Chad Sinon has announced that his BPG Racing will return for the third year as sponsor of the popular event.
?In addition to BPG Racing continuing as the event sponsor track management has announced that the race will be run on Saturday, September 18th in 2010. That date is one week later than in past years.
??We had a huge success with the 2009 edition of the BPG Racing Freedom 76,? said track promoter Bruce Rogers. ?We think that had a lot to do with not being on the same date as the NASCAR Sprint Cup race in Richmond, VA (that race decides what drivers will be in the NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship) as has happened in the past.?
?Because of rain on the original September 12th date the race had to be rescheduled to September 19th. The great weather, a strong car count, a huge fan turnout and not having to compete against the Richmond NASCAR Sprint Cup race all helped to make for a great success.
??Seeing how the one week delay worked in our favor we have decided to go with Saturday, September 18th next year,? said Rogers. ?It is surprising how many people do head to Richmond from this area for that race. We think the new date will be a winner and we will have a Saturday, September 26th raindate in place.?
?Successful Blue Bell, PA businessman Chad Sinon is excited about the huge success of the BPG Racing Freedom 76 of this year and very supportive of the new date.
??It was a great night with a big crowd in attendance,? said Sinon. ?Of course I would have liked to have seen our three BPG Racing entries do better.?
?Craig VonDohren, driving the BPG Racing No. 1c, was involved in a 20th lap accident that put him out of the rich event. Shawn Reimert driving the BPG Racing No. 58s was out early after getting caught up in someone else?s miscue. And the third entry, the BPG Racing No. 4, driven by Duane Howard, lead most of the laps and was forced to the pits to change a tire while leading with just eight laps to go. Howard came back to finish 11th.
??It goes without saying that we will be looking for better luck in the 2010 BPG Racing Freedom 76,? said Sinon.
