BECHTELSVILLE, PA ~?Late model stock car racing will be the featured attraction at Grandview Speedway on Saturday, June 27th when the annual Memorial race , a 30 lapper paying $1,000 to the winner, is presented. The event is run to remember competitors, officials and others involved in racing at the Bechtelsville oval that have passed away. This will be the eighth Memorial put together by track employee Mark Garman.
?The first nine late model events of the season have been won by seven different racers so the competition is expected to be tough. Last year?s winner Ron Kline will be looking to make it two in a row. This event will mark the return of Kory Fleming to late model competition after being out of action since early in the season.
?There are a long list of supporters of the event and fans will have the opportunity to win a variety of prizes in addition to the weekly gift cards that are offered by a number of weekly sponsors.
?The always exciting NASCAR 358 modifieds, with no repeat feature winners this season, will be in action with their feature starting at least 28 cars and going 30 laps. Duane Howard continues to be the point leader in that division.
?For the first time this season the Legends stock cars will make a Saturday night appearance creating a great tripleheader card of racing action.
?Action gets the green at 7:30 p.m. with adult admission set at $15 for the event that will also include gauntlet racing for the late model stock cars.
?Coming up on Tuesday, June 30th is the Keystone State Sprint Speedweek action featuring the 410 sprint cars and the 358 modifieds in a doubleheader that starts at 7:30 p.m.
?Then on Saturday, July 4th the late models will again be in the spotlight with the Beer City of Quakertown Firecracker 40. The NASCAR 358 modifieds will also be featured with a 30-lap feature topping the program.
?Special that night will be Sleepy Hollow Racing and FNL Motorsports giving away four bicycles to kids, two girls and two boys. There will also be Frisbees compliments of Troy Miller and Ultimate Air Heating & Cooling with each one autographed by a late model racer. And Kory Fleming will have autographed pictures and American flags for the kids.
?In addition one lucky fan will win two Terrace Club seats for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono Raceway on August 2nd courtesy of WNPV-1440 AM radio in Lansdale, PA. The tickets will entitle the lucky winner to club seating, pre-race pit/paddock passes, food and beverage services, plus private restrooms. ?Fans are reminded that the BPG Racing ?Name the Night after a Fan? entries must be submitted to by July 4th. The entries can not be longer than 100 words and must explain why you feel that the July 18th race night should be named after you. The winner will have their name used in all advertising and promotion as the night is named after them. The winner gets to entertain their friends in the sponsor booth high above the grandstands. And the winner and friends go to victory lane after each feature. Entries can also be dropped off at the trailer at the main entrance on race night.
