BECHTELSVILLE, PA?~ First it was cold weather and now wet weather is impacting weekly NASCAR stock car racing at Grandview Speedway.
For the second Saturday in a row rain washed out the scheduled NASCAR stock car racing tripleheader. "We had showers coming down for about an hour and planned to wait it out," said track owner Bruce Rogers. "Then the rain turned heavier and the radar indicated it would be going on into the evening so we felt it best for fans and racers to cancel."
PBGW Accounting of Colmar was scheduled to be the sponsor for the night. A new date for their sponsorship will be scheduled.
Early season race events have been hampered by unseasonably cold weather and now two straight weeks of being rained out. It has everyone hoping for improved weather conditions for the Saturday, May 25th show. That tripleheader card of racing will include the NASCAR 358 Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman stock cars with racing starting at 7:30 p.m.
Outlaw Enduro racing and Blast from the Past Vintage cars will be in action on Sunday (May 19th) at 1 p.m. There will be two 100-lap features for the Enduro cars while the Vintage cars race in qualifying events and two 15-lap features. Adult admission is $7 while youngsters under the age of 11 will be admitted free. Two lucky youngsters will get to wave the green for the Enduro features.
