Bechtelsville, Pa. ? Several weeks ago at Grandview Speedway, Jon Kellner Jr. led 12 laps of the feature before mechanical problems sidelined him. Saturday night the Lansdale leadfoot, behind the wheel of the Kellner-owned Justa Pizza No. 67, took the lead on the initial green and held off Ryan Godown?s constant challenges to score his first career victory in the 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American modified feature. It was an early Mother?s Day present for his mom Donna, a supporter of the entire Kellner racing family that includes husband Jon, who competes in the modified division and son Mike, who supports the late model division. Dover International Speedway held a special promotion night. Kellner Jr. powered past Ryan Beltz at the start with Godown following through for the second.

In a few laps Kellner Jr. opened some daylight chased by Godown, Marc Fehr, Doug Hoffman and Beltz.

The pack closed in on Kellner Jr. when the red had to be thrown after Shawn Reimert?s car burst into flames in the third turn with 10 laps completed. After it was extinguished and a quick pit stop he returned to action.

Kellner Jr. kept the Power Washers mount in front on the restart, but now the order behind him consisted of Godown, Hoffman, Pauch Jr. and Doug Manmiller.

The order at the Dan?s Deli 1/2-mark continued to be the same with neither drivers giving an inch. Godown made several bids to get underneath Kellner Jr., but each attempt was unsuccessful as Kellner Jr. held his ground.

In the closing stages the front runner had to deal with lap traffic and some of them didn?t want to move over which caused the top five to use heads-up driving along with the others.

Mike Gular stopped along the backstretch with a flat tire to bring out the final caution with three laps to go. Kellner Jr. didn?t hesitate on the single-file restart as he knew one false move and it might mean the lead.

Kellner Jr. never faltered and pulled into victory lane for a well-deserved win to be the fifth different winner of the season followed by Godown and Hoffman, who both finally had a change of luck and finished; Pauch Jr. and Manmiller, who also recorded his best season finish. Rounding out the top ten were Meme DeSantis, Duane Howard, Kevin Hirthler, Terry Meitzler and Jon Kellner, who received the Cornerstone Auto Sales Hard Charger Award.

Ryan Beltz, Meme DeSantis, Ryan Godown and Terry Meitzler won the heats.

The consies were won by Bill Gensler and Jon Kellner.
Pit Notes: Brad Missimer, who had such a fine run last week, took a violent flip in the third turn in the second heat. He was uninjured, but the car sustained heavy damage.

Bechtelsville, PA ? Chuck Schutz, the defending Grandview Speedway late model point champion, overtook leader John Favinger on the 12th lap and went on to score his first win of the season in the 20-lap NASCAR late model feature on Saturday night. It was also Dover International Speedway promo night.

Bill Henning was off and running at the drop of the green trailed by rookie Andy Ressler, Favinger, Wayne Pfeil and Mike Kellner.

It didn?t take Henning long to pull away from the pack and by the ninth lap the front runners encountered lap traffic.

Henning?s margin was erased on the ninth lap when last week?s feature winner Ron Kline stopped in the first turn. Pfeil?s bad luck continued as he pulled pitside. Henning remained the leader on the restart.
