Bechtelsville, Pa. ? Jeff Strunk, defending and nine-time Grandview Speedway 358 NASCAR Whelen All American Series modified point champion, was at the head of the class and possibly on his way to his first victory of the season when a flat right-rear tire forced him to relinquish the lead on the 24th lap to current point leader and eventual winner Duane Howard in the 30-lap feature. Howard went on to claim his fifth win of the 50th anniversary campaign at the 1/3-mile oval in the event sponsored by USG and CFFC.

Eric Biehn grabbed the early lead at the drop of the green by starter Ray Kemp with pressure coming from Justin Grim, Dan Waisempacher, Jon Kellner and Chris Esposito.

Waisempacher, who overtook second on the fourth lap, reeled Biehn in by the eighth lap to challenge him for the lead.

The lead changed on the tenth lap when Waisempacher took over the top spot and Kellner, already a feature winner this year, followed through for the runner-up position to challenge him.

The 13th lap was a lucky one for Kellner, behind the wheel of the Vince?s Towing No. 66, as he was now showing the way around the oval.

By the Dan?s Deli ?-way hoagie mark, the order behind Kellner, sixth place started, consisted of Strunk, Ray Swinehart, Waisempacher and Howard, who started 15th, seventh, fourth and 16th respectively.
