Bechtelsville, Pa. ? Terry Meitzler, the 1999 point champion at the 1/3-mile Grandview Speedway oval, has been having a rather dismal past few seasons. For the ?05  campaign Meitzler joined forces with the No. 712 team and up until a few weeks ago the best finish he could muster up was a third.

Saturday night the veteran campaigner put the Rychlik Trucking/Elite Pools into the lead on the 19th lap of the American Dental Services sponsored 30-lap NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series modified feature and went on to post his first win of the season. The last time Meitzler visited victory lane was August 30, 2003.

Barry Readinger was the early pacesetter trailed by Mike Bailey, Tom Umbenhauer, Shawn Reimert and Kerry Kratz. A five-car tangle that involved Doug Manmiller, Mike Gular, Ray Swinehart, Kyle Weiss and Tom Mayberry brought out a yellow with four

laps completed. Readinger remained in first with Bailey right on his bumper on the restart.

The red was thrown on the seventh lap when Keith Brightbill spun in the first turn and then suddenly flipped a brand new car just unveiled. Also eliminated in the mishap were Meme DeSantis, John Willman, Sean Merkel and Greg Humlhanz. All drivers were uninjured.

Bailey became the new leader when action went green again with pressure coming from Readinger, Umbenhauer, Meitzler and Craig Von Dohren. Umbenhauer, Meitzler and Von Dohren had their own three-way battle for the third spot with neither one giving in. Meitzler overtook third on the 12th lap.

On the 16th lap with Bailey still ahead Meitzler overtook Readinger and set his sights on Bailey.

The lead was swapped for the third time on the 19th lap as Meitzler overpowered Bailey to move to the head of the pack.

The battle behind Meitzler for the remaining positions was a heated one between Bailey, Von Dohren, Umbenhauer and Jeff Strunk as positions were constantly being exchanged.

Umbenhauer, who just made a bold move into second a few laps prior, spun on his own in the second turn on the 26th lap. As he was going around he just hooked Von Dohren, who was fourth at the time, causing Von Dohren to also be eliminated.

It was still Meitzler in front on the restart with Strunk, Bailey, Tom Mayberry and Kenny Gilmore right behind.

Meitzler never surrendered the number one position and pulled into the winner?s circle for his 20th career win. Following him across the line were Strunk, Mayberry, Gilmore and Bailey. Rounding out the top ten were Donny Erb, Kyle Weiss, Cliff Quinn, Barry Readinger and Mike Gular.

Bechtelsville, PA ? Junior Grebe has been close to winning a 20-lap NASCAR late model feature at Grandview Speedway this season, but hasn?t been able to pull the feat off. Saturday night the veteran campaigner was swapping the lead back and forth with rookie Sean Merkel before he took over first for good on the 14th lap restart and went on to capture his first win of the season in the event sponsored by American Dental Services. It was a Clean Sweep for Grebe as he won his heat, the Cash Dash and then the feature. Grebe posted his last win June 26, 2004. Grebe was off and running on the initial green followed by John Giesler, Merkel, Brian Shuey and Lou Egrie.

Giesler pulled into the infield with a fire underneath his car, but it quickly went out.

Steve Sennott, who was running fourth, was trying to pull into the infield as he was experiencing mechanical problems. With cars all bunched together it triggered a multi-car accident along the backstretch and the yellow was out on
