Bechtelsville, Pa. ? It took Craig Von Dohren five months before he turned things around at Grandview Speedway and got back on the winning track. The five-time champion found victory lane once again last Saturday night and now that he knows where it is, he repeated this week with his 53rd career win on his birthday in the 30-lap NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series modified feature behind the wheel of the Chad Sinon-owned BPG No. 1C.

A three-car tangle in the second turn before the first lap was completed eliminated Steve Swinehart, Tom Brennan and Sean Merkel. When action went green again John Tschudy jumped into the early lead trailed by Ryan Grim, Greg Humlhanz, Shawn Reimert and Tom Umbenhauer.

Mike Gular made  heavy impact with the backstretch wall on the second lap bringing out the next caution. Jon Kellner Jr. and John Willman also got caught up in the incident. Gular was uninjured, but the car sustained heavy damage. All three drivers were sidelined. On the restart Grim bolted into the lead and Reimert followed through for second as Tschudy dropped to third.

While Grim set the pace around the 1/3-mile oval, the battle for positions behind him developed between Reimert, Umbenhauer, Tschudy and Kyle Weiss.

The yellow was waving again on the 14th lap when Glenn Owens spun in the fourth turn. Reimert became the new leader on this restart with Umbenhauer in the runner-up spot challenging. By the 15th lap it was a three-way battle for first between Reimert, Umbenhauer and Von Dohren.

The final caution was on the 18th lap when Tommy Scheetz Jr. spun in the fourth turn. On the restart Reimert took Umbenhauer a little too high and Von Dohren dove underneath both of them and into first.

Within no time Von Dohren pulled way from the pack while Reimert, Umbenhauer, Weiss and Terry Meitzler diced for second through fifth. Ray Swinehart was right there waiting for a slip-up so he could advance a position.

No more restarts were needed to allow anyone to close in on Von Dohren to challenge him and at the drop of the checkered he pulled the Stauffer Construction mount into the winner?s circle for the second straight week. Following him across the line were Reimert, Meitzler, Umbenhauer and Swinehart. Rounding out the top ten were Weiss, Danny Erb, who started 29th in his back-up car; Humlhanz, Jon Kellner and Kevin Hirthler.

Rick Schaffer, Ryan Grim, Craig Von Dohren, Tommy Scheetz Jr. and Ray Swinehart won the heats. The consies were won by Bobby Gunther-Walsh, Kevin Hirthler and Doug Manmiller. Pit Notes: Meme DeSantis, the point leader before the night started, dropped to third as he failed to qualify. Six-time feature winner Jeff Strunk was a spectator for the second week in a row as he also failed to qualify.

Bechtelsville, PA ? Randy Stoudt overtook leader Lou Egrie at the half-way marker of the 20-lap NASCAR late model feature on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway and went on to score his sixth victory of the season by a comfortable margin.
Before the first lap could be completed, Jamie Undercoffler spun in the first turn. The next attempt was void as Dan Keeley slowed in the second turn. Once racing resumed it was Egrie in the top spot
