Bechtelsville, Pa. ? Jon Kellner Jr. has been struggling the past few weeks at Grandview Speedway, but on Saturday night the Lansdale leadfoot turned things around. He won his qualifying heat and then went on to win the 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American modified feature ? an event he led from start to finish for his first win of the season. Kellner Jr. didn?t have an easy time, however, since he had current point leader Jeff Strunk behind him the last six laps and held off Strunk?s last lap bid coming in for the checkered. The triumph marked a milestone for the Kellner family. It was the 100th victory for them which includes Mike, Jon, Jon Jr. and Don, now retired from the sport.

Kellner Jr. wasted no time charging to the front of the pack on the initial start trailed by Bobby Gunther-Walsh, Ron Seltmann Jr., Terry Meitzler and John Willman.

Mike Laise and Nate Christman brought out the first caution when they tangled in the fourth turn. Kellner Jr. was still in control when action resumed.

The next yellow was for Kevin Hirthler?s spin between the first and second turn on the eighth lap which sent him pitside. Kellner Jr. and Gunther-Walsh remained first and second, but now Jarrad Miller, T. Meitzler and Duane Howard completed the top five.

A right rear flat tire brought Howard to a stop along the backstretch bringing out the caution at the Dan?s Deli 1/2-way hoagie mark. Uncooperation by some of the drivers in lining up allowed Howard to get back to the pits, change the tire and rejoin the pack. The leader continued to be Kellner Jr. with pressure coming from T. Meitzler, Miller, Ryan Godown and J. Strunk.

The final yellow was on the 23rd lap when Godown stopped on the backstretch with a flat tire and was out of contention. Kellner Jr. held his position on the restart, but now J. Strunk made a bold move and charged into second to pressure him.
