Bechtelsville, Pa. ? When Craig Von Dohren pulled the BPG/Chad Sinon Motorsports/Alex?s Lemonade No. 1C into victory lane on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway, not only did the Oley leadfoot win his fourth NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series modified feature, he clinched his sixth point championship title at the track. He picked an appropriate night to accomplish this feat since the race sponsor was BPG/Chad Sinon Motorsports.

Doug Manmiller was the point leader by 26 points going into the feature and had he held onto them, it would have been his first title, as well as owner Breitenstein Motorsports. However, Manmiller was involved in a sixth lap tangle, had tire issues on the 16th lap and both times he had to go to the back of the pack and could only muster up a 12th place finish. Manmiller earned 220 points while Von Dohren received 300 for the win. It was a tough break as Manmiller led the points for several weeks.

Tommy Scheetz outgunned polesitter Chris Esposito on the initial green and set the pace for three laps until he was sidelined by mechanical problems and relinquished the lead to Esposito.

With Esposito the new leader, the action behind him wa shot and heavy between Todd Marburger, Cliff Quinn, Ray Swinehart and John Tschudy.

The yellow was thrown on the sixth lap for a second turn tangle that involved Manmiller, Kyle Weiss and Jon Kellner Jr. All three were able to continue.

When action resumed, Marburger charged to the front of the pack trailed by Esposito, Quinn, Swinehart and Sean Merkel. Swinehart overtook second on the tenth lap and set his sights on Marburger.

Esposito?s fine run ended on the 11th lap when he stopped in the third turn out of contention. Marburger held onto the lead on the restart with the top five comprised of Swinehart, Merkel, Cliff Quinn and Meme DeSantis.

Manmiller brought out the yellow on the 16th lap when he was hampered with tire problems. After a quick pit stop he rejoined the action.   The restart was void as Kevin Hirthler was against the fourth turn wall. It was still Marburger at the held of the pack on the restart.

By the 20th lap the order behind Marburger was Swinehart, DeSantis, Von Dohren and Merkel.

The final caution was on the 23rd lap when Jimmy Reppert stopped against the first turn wall. On the restart Swinehart got underneath Marburger and took him high towards the third turn boilerplate. Marburger backed off as they bobbled after the momentum was broken. By the time the next lap was across the line, Von Dohren dove underneath DeSantis, Marburger and Swinehart to put the Stauffer Construction

mount into the lead.

Once Von Dohren took control, he never looked back and pulled into victory lane for his 55th career win. Following him across the line were Swinehart, DeSantis, Marburger and Merkel, who all posted their best finishes in a while. Rounding out the top ten were Terry Meitzler, Ryan Watt, Quinn, Shawn Reimert and Danny Erb.
