27th SEASON OF THUNDER ON THE HILL RACING SERIES SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTED BY SEVEN SPECIAL EVENTS

Seven events highlight a series of specials that would make even the most loyal race fans salivate for the 27th year of action for the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series events presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings at the Grandview Speedway. One hundred and eighteen events have been presented in this co-promotion between Bruce Rogers, owner of Grandview Speedway, and Bob Miller, special events promotor with over $4,000,000 having been paid out to Thunder competitors since that first race in 1990.

Thunder on the Hill welcome’s back the sponsorship support of NAPA Auto Parts as well as Pioneer Pole Buildings as the series headline sponsors for 2016. GALCO Business Communications, Quaker Steak & Lube and Window World are back for another year of special events on the Hill.

In 2016, the Thunder on the Hill Racing series kicks off with a Memorial Day Sunday Spectacular on May 29, highlighted by a 35-lap $4,000 to win Small-Block Modified spectacular with the Sportsman and the TSRS Sprint Car Series.

This sets the stage for the USAC National Sprint Car Series returning to the Grandview Speedway for the 10th running of the Jesse Hockett Classic. These Wingless Sprint Cars join the 358 Modifieds on Tuesday, June 7.

The sizzle of summer continues with a pair of 410 Sprint Car and 358 Modified double headers. The 22nd running of Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speed Week hits the Bechtelsville high-banks on Tuesday, June 28, and the 2nd Annual Thunder Cup takes place on Tuesday, July 26.

On Thursday, July 14, the 19th running of the Traffic Jam will showcase the stars and cars of the Super DIRTCar Series Big-Block Modifieds competing against our hometown heroes in an always exciting event. Joining this show will be the Sportsman competing in a series of qualifying events leading up to a twenty-five lap feature.

Thursday, August 18 Thunder on the Hill Racing Series presents a Sprint Car showdown like no other when the nationally touring All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car Series invades the Grandview Speedway in an all-winged double header that includes the ever competitive TSRS Sprint Car Series as an accompaniment.

The Thunder series rounds out 2016 on Saturday, October 15 with the MODS at the MADHOUSE Halloween Party featuring a $5,000-to-win, 40 Lap Small-Block Modified challenge that includes the Sportsman and the TSRS Sprint Cars.
