APPROACHING RAIN & THUNDER STORMS FORCE THUNDER ON THE HILL TO CANCEL 2021 SEASON FINALE AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY SATURDAY

BECHTELSVILLE, PA OCTOBER 16, 2021 . . . . . . . For most of the week there was the forecast for rain on Saturday, October 16 in Bechtelsville, PA. Today’s update at 1 PM is no better and now shows a 90% chance of rain and thunder storms through the afternoon and into the evening. As many of you understand, this is the absolute worse timing for rain as it hampers track preparation and leaves many travelers and race teams wondering what to do. So it is with great disappointment, that we are cancelling the Roaring Triple 20’s Thunder on the Hill Racing Series event at Grandview Speedway tonight, Saturday, October 16.

A field of 51 modifieds and 25 sportsman were already pre-entered and we expected a great event to close out the 2021 Thunder on the Hill Racing Series. Taking into consideration the we do not have rain date for this event, the cost of fuel to travel and with respect for our spectators and race teams, the decision was made to cancel.

We thank all the race fans, race teams and sponsors to include NAPA Auto Parts, Pioneer Pole Buildings, Levan Machine & Truck Equipment and GT Radiators for their strong support of Thunder on the Hill in 2021. Plans are already underway as we look to 2022 and the thirty-third season of Thunder on the Hill. We plan to release our schedule by mid-December.

THUNDER ON THE HILL RACING SERIES EVENTS AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY

Thunder on the Hill Racing Series events are held at Grandview Speedway, one of the most historic and celebrated dirt track venues in the Northeastern United States. Located just east of Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania, Grandview Speedway is a one-third-mile, high-banked clay oval that has hosted continuous professional stock car racing since opening in 1963.
