Bechtelsville, PA?~ The NASCAR Sportsman stock cars will
be featured on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway as they race in a 40-lap
feature race. In addition there will be a 30-lap feature for the Modifieds and a
25-lap feature for the Late Models. At least 14 events of stock car racing will
be make up the Bashore Trucking/BFP Specialties Night with the green flag being
waved at 7:30 p.m.
?Defending Sportsman champion Jared Umbenhauer will be
looking for his third win of the season in the 40-lapper as he works at holding
off the challenge of Craig Whitmoyer who is just 60 points behind in the battle
for the title.
?In the primary class of competition defending NASCAR 358
Modified champion Duane Howard will be looking to add his sixth win of the
season and increase his lead in the chase for the lucrative title. Howard has
just a 19 point edge over two feature winner Craig VonDohren who has finished
second the last three Saturdays.
?And in the exciting Late Model division
defending titleholder Chuck Schutz continues his battle for a seventh title as
he holds just an 18 point edge over Mike Kellner. Each driver has two
?Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. at the same time three drivers will
be doing a meet and greet as they display their race cars. Warm-ups start at
?Admission is $20 for adults, $5 for youngsters 6 thru 12 and under
6 are admitted FREE. Pit admission is $30 and must include a NASCAR license.
Active military are admitted FREE upon showing a valid active military
identification card.
?Then on Sunday (June 23) at 1 p.m. the Outlaw Enduros
will run a two big 100-lap features plus a 40-lap event. In addition the Blast
from the Past Vintage Cars will race in two 15-lap features giving fans a chance
to see what race cars and racing was like in years past. Adult admission is just
$10 while youngsters 12 and under are admitted free. Kids will have a chance to
win the opportunity to flag an Enduro race.
