JEFF STRUNK AND BOB TRAPPER MADE STRONG TEAM FOR CHAD SINONGrandview PR
BLUE BELL, PA January 9, 2004 . . . Two time NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Grandview Speedway Modified champion Jeff Strunk will be going after his third title and for the second year in a row will be driving cars provided by BPG Racing/Chad Sinon Motorsports. In addition car owner Chad Sinon has announced that veteran stock car racer Bobby Trapper will be in a second team car for the 2004 season.
Strunk, running the familiar #88, will have four race cars at his disposal (three blue and one red) with his primary car being a 2004X Bicknell with powered supplied by Main Racing Engines (Old Forge, PA).
“Our main goal for Jeff Strunk and me is to bring home another NASCAR Modified title at Grandview Speedway and, after falling short in 2003, win the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series New England Regional title. And once we figure out where we will be racing on Friday nights we will shoot for a title there also. On top of all that we are hoping to improve on our big block Modified efforts in 2004 and will run at least six events on the Super DIRT Series,” said Sinon.
Strunk and Sinon are considering weekly Friday night efforts either at NASCAR sanctioned Big Diamond Raceway or the independent Penn Can Speedway.
“I had the best season of my career last season at Grandview. The track title and finishing second in the regional. Chad is a great car owner. I couldn’t ask for anyone better. And this year we want to win another Grandview championship and the NASCAR Regional. Maybe we can even go for the National title,” said the very excited Bethel, PA racer.
Sponsorship for Strunk will come from BPG Racing, Chad Sinon Motorsports, Bicknell Racing Products, Baringer Associates, Inc Insurance and Real Estate, Ristorante San Marco, Will’s Equipment Painting, JR Schell Trucking and the Bobby Trapper owned Trap’s Speed Shop in Scranton, PA.
Strunk and Sinon will have the car on display as part of the Grandview Speedway Thunder on the Hill display at Motorsports 2004 Presented by Sunoco show at the Fort Washington, PA Expo Center starting at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 16th and continuing through until 6 p.m. Sunday, January 18th. More than 40,000 people are expected to visit the show.
Trapper will be running a Black 2003X Bicknell with power from Main Racing Engines and carry the #66.
The popular Scranton racer will be returning as a Saturday night regular at Grandview Speedway and will also run various special events at Big Diamond and Penn Can Speedways.
Sponsorship for the Chad Sinon owned #66 will come from BPG Racing, Chad Sinon Motorsports, Trap’s Speed Shop and Bicknell Racing Products.
“We are hoping to get a lot of seat time early for Bobby and get him back in the groove of being in action on a regular basis. We then expect to put together a strong effort that will have him finishing in the top ten in the final NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Modified standings at Grandview Speedway,” commented Sinon. “We have had a lot more time to get our teams together during this off season. We did the deal with Jeff Strunk last season at almost the last minute and Jeff did a fantastic job in being able to win the Grandview title and we really hung in their in the chase for the NASCAR Regional title. That was a heartbreaker. We want the regional title this year.”
