BECHTELSVILLE, PA January 26, 2005 . . . Late model stock car racers at NASCAR sanctioned Grandview Speedway will be able to use a four barrel carburetor starting with the 2005 season.
“We have had a majority of the Late Model stock car racing teams that race on a regular basis at our track asking for this change. They feel it will help them put on a better show and, according to some, cut some of the expense of fielding a car,” said track operator Bruce Rogers. “We have talked with our technical staff and gathered input from many of the racers. We think this is the right decision at the right time.”
Late Model racers will be allowed to run the same carburetor being used by the NASCAR Modified stock cars racing at Grandview Speedway. A 650 CFM carburetor, part #4777, model #4150, is the one that all Late Model racers will be allowed to use. A more detailed description of the carburetor can be found in the track rule book under the Modified carburetor section.
Late Model racers will get a chance to test with their new carburetors at Grandview Speedway when they kick off their 2005 season with the annual free-to-the-public practice session on March 26th.  The practice session is open to all racers who may be planning to race at the one-third-mile, banked clay oval. The session will start at 12 noon.
Officially the season will get the green flag on Saturday, April 2nd, 7 p.m. Susquehanna Patriot Bank will sponsor the opening night show of NASCAR Modifieds and Late Model stock cars. This will be the third straight year that the bank, with offices throughout the area, has sponsored opening night activities.
Officials have also announced that the United Racing Club sprint car race scheduled for Saturday, June 11th has now been moved to Saturday, May 7th and that will be a doubleheader show featuring the sprints and the NASCAR Modified stock cars.

“We do still have some open dates for those who may have interest in marketing through motorsports at the NASCAR sanctioned speedway and would like to sponsor a night of racing,” said track marketing director Ernie Saxton. “It is a great way to reach the fans at Grandview at a reasonable cost. In addition we offer track magazine and billboard advertising along with other marketing opportunities.”
