READING, PA January 26, 2006 . . . Veteran Modified stock car racer Jeff Strunk, a winner of 20 championships during his career, has teamed up with Reading?s Johnny Rea, a successful car owner, to challenge for the 358 Modified championships at Grandview Speedway and Big Diamond Raceway.
?Johnny and I feel we are going to have a very strong team to go after the two speedway titles and make a run for the NASCAR Division II championship (worth more than $25,000 at the end of the season),? said the five time Grandview Speedway NASCAR Modified champion. ? With Johnny?s success, winning a NASCAR championship at Big Diamond with driver Keith Hoffman in 2002, and my success at both Grandview and Big Diamond (a four time champion), we feel we are going to be tough to beat.?
The JR Motorsports team will field a Teo chassis Modified with Barry Gechter power plants. Gechter has built engines for Strunk in the past when he won titles with owner Keith Harring in 2000 and 2002 at Grandview Speedway.
